Nice try Alberto!
It was a really awesome ending to an awesome pay-per-view..

However, I don't think it counts against Del Rio because technically no bell was rung. Also, Punk hit him with a nice kick to send him down and after a 5-second grin towards McMahon, he high-tailed it outta there, again, no bells sound.
I wouldn't be surprised if Del Rio complains and it gets him his MitB card back - if they even bring it up.

What's really going to be interesting is how the McMahon/Cena thing hits the fan tomorrow night. Of course they'll never fire their babyface.
Unless, (and I'm reeeaaaaalllllyyy hoping WWE has this planned, or is otherwise listening to us,) this is the chance Cena has to finally turn heel and go ape-shit.
Think about it: Cena tried to do the right thing - it cost him the belt. Cena tried to do the right thing - it cost him his job. Cena has always tried to do the right thing - and it cost him loyalty and respect. So the hell with Vince, hell with WWE, and to hell with the fans! Since loyalty and respect are earned, and doing the right thing wasn't good enough, it's time to go back to the full-time hustle, baby!
[enter R Truth for either a TagTeam offer, or a challenge.]

And for the love of God, I hope the WWE has half a freakin' brain and was able to offer Punk anything he wants to get him to stay, because without him, WWE has nothing going right now.. Hometown or not - Punk had that Austin/Hogan pop tonight!

Cena's entrance, on the other hand, well, if I closed my eyes, I'd think I was re-watching 2006's One Night Stand.

You're right, they didn't ring the bell so Alberto is safe. I still love the fact that a MITB cash in attempt was thwarted at a pay per view though. It really made Punk look like a true bad ass. Bonus points to WWE for attempting to mimic the Montreal screwjob and Cena stopping the bell from getting rung. I think that was brilliant.

A Cena heel turn would be cool, but they could theoretically also use this to get Cena more over as a face if they turn this into a feud between him and Vince since Vince kind of cost Cena the match. I think it would be amazing if both Cena and Punk become these outlaws. Cena would be raising hell on Raw even though he's fired, which would be even cooler if he did it as a heel. Punk could show up in Ring of Honor with the title. Imagine the possibilities with two guys not employed by the WWE still causing problems for Vince wherever they go. They could do some pretty edgy tv here. They could even bring Rock back and have him address the issue of his Mania match not happening if Cena is fired. Or maybe this storyline could bring the WWE back to having one championship title which would mean.....

THAT CHRISTIAN IS THE F**CKING MAN RIGHT NOW!!!!

UNDISPUTED CHAMPION OF THE ENTIRE WWE!!!!!

^ Like CM Punk is really gonna walk away from WWE with the Championship in hand. I'd bet he's sticking around with the Championship intact. If not, then I'd be absolutely shocked, and in that case you'd be right about Christian being Undisputed.

I REALLY hope he changes that thing, though. In his speech a couple weeks back he said the Championship has been ugly for 5 years too long, and I wholeheartedly agree.

Here is a audio of an angry fan, stating that WrestleMania 28 is ruined due to CM Punk winning and John Cena being "fired" last night:

and CM Punk parties after his PPV win:

Couple thoughts on Raw

Aparently Cena has apalogized on twitter for his immature, childish behavior towards the Rock

Did Cena publicly acknowledge TNA's existence on Raw?

Damn you Rey for beating Truth

Who is the General Manager?

Miz as champ again next week? I like it, was rooting for Truth though

So why the big deal about Punk leaving with the belt if they can just replace it. That was a bit disappointing

With the change of power going from Vince to "Doofus", this makes a good opportunity to reinstate CM Punk to some capacity. Punk is red-hot, and no doubt WWE will do anything they can to hang onto this lightning in a bottle. But I really think it would be best to let Punk have a few months off to rest and come back for Royal Rumble just in time for Wrestlemania when he's returns to a huge pop!

That's what I thought (especially the RIOT signs) -- the big difference was that Chicago fans weren't spiteful enough to toss Cena's shirt back at him.

I really have to find the original ONS (with the fans singing Enter the Sandman/Highway to Hell during the LIVE showing).

Just caught actual footage of MitB2011; very nice though not perfect. The hour-plus clash between Cena and Punk grabbed the thunder from the Daniels and Christian wins of course. Christian needs to bounce back from that type of win though. I don't think he's "Mountee" enough to stave off all-comers for half a year. (Remember that angle where Cornette used every trick in the book -- and then some -- to keep the Steiners away from the Mountees?)

As for Cena/Punk... amazingly Cena was working his @$$ off and it showed. He is definitely has more bulk than he had last year (almost Hogan-esque, but without the orange sheen) and as Cole and Lawler played up, Cena was the superiorly conditioned one. It was almost to the point where I believed he should never play "face in peril" and that he should just steamroll over opponents. Punk did flub up here and there, but he and Cena cover each other nicely. It was really great to see Cena try to STF Punk to death (and Punk pulling out the Anaconda! to counter).

Punk will return. He might want something in his contract that lets him work other shows (like Lawler does), but performers always want to work the biggest stage. Punk most likely still wants to headline a Wrestlemania, just to headline Wrestlemania. He'll also want a stack of gold bricks, which he is worth. I figure, like the WWE has done before (with Bryan Danielson) that he will get some time off (free to work other shows NOT labeled TNA) and then come back with a stable.

I will add one more thing to Cena's credit though. He is this generation's Hulk Hogan to the T. He is the face, if not the physique, of wrestling. He is the always-positive-poster-boy.

And he has had the rivalries Hogan had. It's just that this generation has more access to wrestling (and a shorter attention span) that we haven't seen the 6-to-12-month cold-war style feuds Hogan had with Macho King, Sgt. Slaughter, or Iron Sheik. Cena has been an over-the-top workhorse, plowing through the impossible (although sometimes at the expense of another's credibility) and selling stuff left and right. Remember his original gangsta-gestures? The two fists together? The two fists with pinkies? The separated fists with thumb and pinkie horns? The OK symbol now? Remember how Cena spent half a year chasing Brock Lesnar, even creating the F-U (now the A-A, and originally a D-V-D) to rival the farmboy's F-5? I'm not saying I'm a part of Hulkamania anymore, retrospective does that, but I can see why Cena's where he is and who he is. This is why I feel he deserves the accolades and the spite he has accumulated. He should be getting both; he is at the top after all.
