I mean a movie series that lasts 8 films, supposedly maintains at least a watchable level of quality throughout, and actually has a grand finale as opposed to just pittering out in mediocrity? That's something special there. Shit most franchises can't even make it to 3 films without going completely down the gutter.

So yeah I plan to get around to watching them for myself sometime... maybe I'll post my thoughts/experiences when I do?

Also awful CGI is pretty much a staple of movies circa 1996-2006 or so
Independence Day is the movie that I always think of first when I think of bad CGI. The scene where those guys are flying out of the big alien ship as it blows up towards the end of the movie looks distractingly CGI.

Ugh, and when Lucas did his first revision of Star Wars IV and added the Solo/Hutt scene? God did it look like a mess.

Speaking of, while watching the W'sWorld Cup I couldn't help shouting "Solo!" in my best Jabba voice, which even annoyed me, but that didn't stop me.

"Solo!".

I thought Starship Troopers (1999) had some great CGI.

Batman Forever had some terrible CGI cityscapes.

I remember the awful CGI in the Matrix sequels too. Are we actually supposed to take that superpunch thing seriously?

Which Batman movie was it where we were supposed to be impressed by Robin doing his laundry? That's one of the most laughable movie scenes of all time.

edit* found it. Sweet Jesus it is so bad.

Wow, that's aimed at 6 year olds for sure. I know I would have thought it was cool at that age. Now, not so much.

The teaser for Dark Knight Rises is out. Couldn't find just a video link but no doubt you will find it easily if you just google it.
