Alpha protocol is not the horrible game people make it out to be. It has technical issues and combat lacks variety but it is still a very fun game when it comes to the characters and dialogue. Looking at the games beaten so far, I have beaten current gen games more than any generation. Although I play retro games more than current gen games, I don't finish them.

-Mega Man: Legends (PS1) - Unique 3D action game with a lot of RPG-elements added to it. Definitely not your average Mega Man game, but very enjoyable. I really wish the sequel wasn't so outrageously expensive.
I love when I see other people playing Megaman Legends! That game is horribly underrated for some odd reason - I have never before nor since played a game with so much character and pure joy as the original MML.
MML2 IS expensive but at least it is not as expensive as the Misadventures of Tron Bonne. I am so glad I bought all those games at retail when they were new back in the day. No one could have predicted they would get to be so expensive!
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I hear you big time. When I first got into those games my friends were just like "3D Mega Man? This sucks", and wrote it off instantly. These games are pure gold. With the exception of Command Mission, they're the only spin-off Mega Man games I can get into.
I don't have Trone Bonne, but I kind of wish I did. I used to rent it a lot back in the day. I don't remember it being particularly good, but I had fun with it. Mega Man Legends 2 is really getting up there in price, ain't it? I'm glad I bought them back in the day too. Both of my copies of MML 1 and 2 are pristine. I bet if the US got that Rock Man DASH PSP bundle pack, the prices wouldn't be nearly as high. Same with Suikoden.

I'm sort of torn on that statement. Part of me likes being in that exclusive 'I liked it before it was expensive' crowd. Part of me wishes more people could get ahold of Mega Man Legends titles so that the franchise might prosper again.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Even Tron Bonne was awesome.
So you didn't like Command Mission? I've generally heard good things myself, I still want to check it out eventually.
I've never been interested in the Battle Network series though.

Thoughts on the Game(s)
Wow, did not expect to enjoy this so much. I find it hard to believe this game bombed when it came out, I guess too many people, myself included, thought it looked like a Doom3 clone, but man was I wrong.
Really solid gameplay, an enjoyable storyline and pretty well put together engine.
Yeah, I enjoyed Prey quite a bit as well. There was a lot of creativity that went into the design of the puzzles in that game. It's sort of like Doom 3 meets Portal with native americans. The game was really nauseating though. I still haven't finished it, partly because it makes me feel sick. All of the gravity bending portal warping stuff just messes with your vestibular system. Add to that the gross out environment with pounds of human meat lining the walls and giant sphincters for doors, and the game makes it really hard to hold onto your lunch.
Fun fact: Portal 2 was going to incorporate a gravity shifting ability similar to Prey, but play testing revealed that too many players got sick from it, so that idea was cancelled.
I'm looking forward to Prey 2. I wish it had more of a native american look to it, as that was part of what really set the first Prey apart and made it unique, but the early trailers for Prey 2 are still looking pretty incredible.

No I did like it, I meant that it's the only Mega Man spin-off that I like besides Mega Man Legends. I probably worded it poorly. It's definitely worth checking out.

^This. They should have called it something besides 'Megaman'. I blame those games for the dearth of proper Megaman games we've had to deal with for years now.

Whoops, I see what you meant. Well, that means yet another positive word on Command Mission! I definitely have to check it out someday. How does it even tie into the series though? I'm still clueless about that, like whether it's another alternate universe, or somehow ties into the X series.
@Flake: Ditto, nothing about those games, even character design wise, etc, looks Mega Man-esque at all. Just Capcom/Square Enix doing what they do best.

Final Fantasy IX was beaten for the Snickerdoodle summer marathon, and I've posted regularly about it in that topic. In summary though, it was awesome, I loved it.
Sam and Max 105 and 106 were awesome, 104-106 were much better than the first 3, it felt like Telltale really got into the swing of things as they went. 105 was particularly amusing, with a lot of video game references, including coin collecting and an epic battle with a blue slime
