I agree. I do not see cheating to be bad at all if you're having trouble in a single player game. The entire point of gaming is to have fun and when you stop having fun...
...so give yourself a little bump if that's all it would take!

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

WITCH!
No seriously, I agree. I've cheated in the past in order to advance in games, mostly when I was a kid though. Sometimes its just fun to be overpowered, and other times, like in Crabmaster's case, its just required in order to have any fun. Do it!
All the cool kids are.

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
So I FINALLY reached disc 4 on FFIX, and I think I'm at the last dungeon. Not sure though, as I'm not using a guide for the main game, but it sure looks pretty climactic.
What I DID use a guide for though, was the sidequests. How anyone would figure some of these out without a guide is beyond me. I worked through most of them now, only things I didn't do were getting all the cards (and i never plan to, im not really a fan of the card game) and beating Ozma (which I might do someday, but not right now). I did every other sidequest though, so I feel comfortable going in for the final boss.
My party is the same as always (Zidane, Eiko, Freya, Quina), they're pretty well kitted out now, and all of them have every ability and spell they can possibly have. Their levels range from 50-55. The rest of my team vary from 32-40

tried to beat MMX4 two more times. I just can't QUITE beat Sigma. It's really making me furious now.

Do you need some help?[/quote]
Flake is the MMaster so came to my aid. I'm not sure I can be helped though. I'll lay it down:
Sigma1 = so easy
Sigma2 = easy
Sigma3 = I can't beat him
I can take out his big gun form easy enough. But the ground form is troublesome when he throws shit at me instead of trying to suck me toward him. I also get nicked a bit when the Yellow head shoots the lasers at me cuz I can't seem to dodge them AND the ground electricity at the same time.
BUT my main problem is this: I start the saved game by entering/re-entering the snow level to fill my 2 E-Tanks. This takes 10 mins. Then I beat the boss rush, which is a cakewalk now, but another 15 mins at least. So then I kill Sigma1 and 2, but on 3 I end up using my E-Tanks, and getting him ALMOST FUCKING KILLED and then I die. And even though I have 2 lives left, what's the point? My E-Tanks are gone, and don't feel like spending the 10 mins to refill and 15 on boss rush again.
I did this scenario twice tonight.

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
If you can do the boss rush without needing e-tanks, then don't use any against Sigma until you only have 1 life left and may as well anyway. That way you'll be able to get some practice rounds in against him and learn to try to fight him without depending on an e-tank. You'll get him eventually, keep at it.

that's kind of a good idea. The boss rush is easy. I can do it without even paying attention. I just wish that I could save the fucking game with my E-Tanks filled. Even that would make me less annoyed.

If it makes you feel better noise, I think the final fight in MMX4 is perhaps one of the hardest in the entire series. All of the other Sigma fights are quite a bit more manageable, but X4... goddamn.

what really upset me was when I first beat Sigma3's gun-form and I had a sliver of health left and was like OMG I JUST BEAT THE GAME only to realize the one on the floor had his own health bar.
