Best version of Plants vs Zombies?
I played a demo of this that was super addicting, but there seems to be a billion versions of this game. Which one is the best? Is the PC Game of the Year edition the best? I heard that the Xbox Live Arcade version supposedly has the most features. I'd like to play this, but I want to get the best version for my money

I would say PC, followed by DS, simply because of the controls. You need to be able to mouse/stylus very quickly in the second half of the game, and the control mechanism on the XBLA version (while well implemented) doesn't hold up quite the same and impacts the experience.Gamerforlife wrote:I played a demo of this that was super addicting, but there seems to be a billion versions of this game. I've heard there's some slowdown in the DS version. There are more play modes, though, so it depends on what you value most.irixith wrote:I would say PC, followed by DS, simply because of the controls. How in the world is the iOS version the worst? I think that it works exceedingly well on the iPad!KillerJuan77 wrote:PC > PS3/360 > DS > iPhone/iPod Touch
Re: Best version of Plants vs Zombies?
I really like the ds version of PvZ, followed by PC and iOS version. I didn't like the ps3 version since it took too long to do things after playing the other 3 versions. I'd go with the ds version for the following 4 reasons: it's portable, easy to use (stylus), extra modes (fun minigames), and ds download play!

I didn't mention the iPad version since I hadn't played it, but the iPod Touch version haves some massive slowdowns.lisalover1 wrote:How in the world is the iOS version the worst? I think that it works exceedingly well on the iPad!KillerJuan77 wrote:PC > PS3/360 > DS > iPhone/iPod Touch

I played it through on PC and it ran great, the xbox version I played for a bit didn't slow down, but I found the controls not as suited as a mouse.
I would highly suggest the PC.

I think the DS version is pretty solid. I would imagine the PC/Mac version is the best though.

I have it for pc and ios and to be honest I don't recall any serious slowdown on my phone (iphone 4). I really enjoyed both ports and I really don't think you'll be disappointed by whichever version you buy. I might throw some weight behind the motion to steer clear of a controller though, I think in the later levels I'd get frustrated trying to keep up on a controller.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
