Favorite Digital Download Developers
Well, since Xbox Live Arcade, PSN and Steam are pretty popular now, I wondered who your favorite makers of digital only games are. I'm rather fond of Housemarque with Outland, Dead Nation and Super Stardust HD. They're all pretty solid and show that Housemarque has some range and diversity in their games. I'm also really impressed with Thatgamecompany and Ska Studios

TellTale. Although their games often get a physical release, they are usually download-exclusive for at least a few months.

I haven't seen anything from them in awhile, but I was always fond of Mountain King Studios (formerly Cygnus).

Rockin' Android, thatgamecompany, Telltale, and... I can't really think of many others.

PopCap.
As I read somewhere once, PopCap's games are so addictive they make Colombian drug dealers slap their heads and shout "Of course!".

Llamasoft (Gridrunner Revolution, Space Giraffe)
Gaijin Games (BIT.TRIP series)
The Behemoth (Alien Hominid, Castle Crashers, Battle Block Theatre)
Tale of Tales (The Path, The Graveyard, Fatale, Endless Forest)
thatgamecompany (flow, cloud, flower, journey)
Klei (n+, Eets, Shank)
Distractionware/Terry Cavanaugh (Don't Look Back, Pathways, American Dream, VVVVVV)
Frictional (Penumbra, Amnesia: The Dark Descent... though they ultimate all got boxed).
and... I don't know... It's kind of hard to think of people that are strictly digital and have released more than one good game.
There are a lot that might prove to be good as they release more.
Mojang created Minecraft and are working on a game called Scrolls with the Penny Arcade guys (though they still need to even finish Minecraft).
2DBoy did World of Goo, which was brilliant, but their second outing Robot and the Cities that Built Him was just an interesting distraction that I read they are not very happy with.
Team Meat (Super Meat Boy) is working on a new game, though they are busy porting Super Meat Boy to everything.

PopCap are great, though they often end up seeing a physical release and their games get released across many platforms. EA just bought PopCap for $750 million. Pretty crazy.jfrost wrote:PopCap.
