I don't think I've found an awesome deal at my local thrift store in well over a year (found Snow Brothers for NES there about two years ago for 2 bucks). I was almost to the point of giving up and not checking there anymore for retro stuff. Something pulled at me to stop in today though, and boy am I glad I did! Epic haul!

Ninja Warriors and Mario Bros are nice for $4. Contra Force is really nice for $4. But furniture eh? Guess you'll have to level a wobbly table or something with them.

Yeah I don't know what the deal with that is. All of their electronics and video games are always in the "furniture" department.

Thrift stores can be weird that way. At my Salvation Army, console games always go inside the glass counter up front, but PC games have a 50/50 chance of either being put in the music CD section or the board game section. It usually depends on the size of the box. And consoles are randomly placed either under the counter or in with the PC accessories.

The thrift stores around here are liable to put games anywhere. I've found carts in the VHS, tape, CD, TV, and toy sections as well as a few behind/on the counter. PC games I've found have either been with the TV's, VHS or behind the counter. The last two generations of console games either go in the DVD or VHS section, or behind the counter. The only thing that seems to be consistently placed is the PS1 games with the CD's. But even then they place CD's in two different locations in the store :? I think it just depends who's putting stuff out during what shift. Needless to say, I spend a lot of time wandering the store to try to make sure I haven't missed anything.

On a more "Finds" related note I picked up Popeye for the NES ( ) and picked up Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo at my local game store  I've been wanting to play that sucker for a while...and now I can. I am slightly bummed though. I found out while I was there from their youngest employee (aka. The Boy) that they'd gotten in Chrono Cross and Brave Fencer Musashi and took them to the other store. :(
