They making room for all the new games, perhaps anticipation of a huge 3DS library? So far Gamecube cases are holding on.

I just came back from the local Gamestop, still had used DS games in cases. This was the Gamestop in the mall, seemed that would be the one that would toss the cases. Maybe all the fuss I made about PS2 cases is working, the District Manager keeping the local stores from tossing used game cases. I am starting to see $2.99 used PS2 games cases intact.

To avoid duplicates shouldn't this thread be merged with the Gamestop Evil Thread?

This is why I support my local game store. My business goes to my local game store, ebay, and amazon. I ONLY go to gamestop to exchange a broken controller if I have to.

Eventually Gamestop will be selling us disc-only games as new. I wish I was being facetious; that could actually happen.

To put it simply, GameStop hates their potential consumers.

Nono, they'll have a kiosk you can plug your system into and buy and download the game. :P

"Look, here's a mod chip. We're just going to burn these games to DVD-R for you from now on, because shelf space for real games just costs too much. But don't go getting burned games elsewhere, okay!?"

After the whole PS2 fiasco, I just don't care anymore.

Online shopping on places like ebay or amazon solves everything.

First PS2, now this. The only problem I have with this is: Why should we pay the same price for a game without the case as we do for a game with the case? There should be some discount for caseless games, maybe a 10-20% discount would seem fair.

Getting rid of DS cases is completely stupid. I wanted a DS game they had in stock but it wasn't on the shelf or in the case. The employee digs out a medium sized box over flowing with caseless DS games. He spends roughly 15 mins digging out every single game to find the one i'm looking for. The last game in the box. I ask him why they have it like this and he says they have no way to display them properly. They put them up right in a case and some one bumps it and they all fall down.

Unless they're sending a new way to display the games its going to be a huge pain for anyone trying to find a game.

Thats funny since they don't even discount a "new" game that is missing its case...
