I'm sure they could. They still might. It probably has something to do with the stupid VC/Wiiware release schedule that they've committed themselves to.BoringSupreez wrote:I wish they would at east put stuff like that up on the VC. I think they'd be bound to make at least a little money that way. It can't cost too much money to sell a game digitally, so even if it only sold 50,000, I think they'd make some money. At least if the game is already translated.

Yeah, it might. The VC wins my award for biggest letdown of this generation. It looked like it was going to be the best collection of downloadable games ever, and then they proceeded to neglect so many great titles. It's still good, yes, but nowhere near as good as I thought it was going to be back in 2006.flamepanther wrote:I'm sure they could. They still might. Very nice. I doubt it will do much to sway them, but nicely done.

It's because Nintendo figured out really early on that they couldn't emulate the way they thought they could. For each VC game, the emulator along with game specific fixes is bundled together. It's pretty primitive -- you'll notice that most of the games they release are early from each system's lifespan (talking about Nintendo's own systems here), and there is very little from when developers really started utilizing the system and doing great stuff.BoringSupreez wrote:It looked like it was going to be the best collection of downloadable games ever, and then they proceeded to neglect so many great titles.
I wish Nintendo would have brought some of the emulator authors on board to improve the service -- but they really don't seem to give a shit, even though one of the advertised features was to be able to run five generations of Nintendo software on it.
Also, I'm sure license agreements and copyrights are what holds up the rest. What a pain.

Good video and solid argument. It's really a shame that NoA isn't releasing those games.

Nintendo for whatever reason seems totally against putting previously unreleased stuff on VC though. It's weird.flamepanther wrote:I'm sure they could. They still might. I think this is a good reminder of the fact that companies are not live beings, but are run by a handful of people who often doesn't understand anything about the product they sell and run on shitty preconceptions that do nothing but harm themselves.
You all know the examples. From D&D's playtesting to animation of The Simpsons, it's nothing new.
Specially from a company who had a president who never played a single videogame in his life and mocked the very own RPG players he was catering to.

That video was pure class. Loved it.
Also, not to continue spreading the bull crap fire, but as of July 8th, there are STILL rumors that NoA has actually at least finished the localization of Xenobalde and The Last Story is being worked on:

But, I'm calling bull, or at least I'm not believing it until NoA stops dicking us around and gives us a real damn answer. Whether it's a yes or no at this point, I don't even really care anymore, since I'm sure many of us keeping up with this story for the past year or so like myself, are pretty much ready to give up. I'm simply tired of it.
But I'm damn more than ready to gear up and import these games, you can bet on that. All that money? Go ahead and take it, NoE.

So, that's all 3 project rainfall games officially confirmed on Europes release schedule now. Will be interesting to see what happens in America. I know both have been mentioned before, but this is more official.

As long as there's no issue from PAL to NTSC, like Day of Disaster on a US Wii, then I'm semi-satisfied that they're in English.alienjesus wrote:So, that's all 3 project rainfall games officially confirmed on Europes release schedule now.
