I'm looking for a free dial-up ISP (based in the US; perferably northeast access numbers) so I can test some things with the Sega Saturn SegaNet modem. Would have to be a basic ISP that doesn't use any propritary software (such as AOL or BlueLight) and will let me just dial in.
Anyone here know of any?

I'd be surprised to be honest. Most of the free ones (if any still exist) need something to pay the bills, so they usually need a ad toolbar or something....

I used a fantastic one for my dreamcast up til it died last year. It was just known as freedialup.com or something. Just one toll free number for all of USA, no catches, no software. It worked fine, and had no issues. But one day their site just went byebye. I doubt the number still works. It's probably still registered to my dreamcast, so maybe I should test it.
A suggestion might be to investigate setting up your own dial-up service. It's actually fairly straight forward.

All you're really doing is accommodating a phone based modem on your network.
There's also several tutorials for tricking your dreamcast into thinking you've dialed into a server when you've really just run it into the modem of a computer. No reason it shouldn't work for the saturn as well.

there was a website (and maybe many more than one) a few years ago targeted for taking your dreamcast online via free dial-up accounts that would expire after a month or so. unfortunately i can't remember what the site was, i likely found it through dcemulation. i do remember that the free logins were referred to as "duns", which i've never heard elsewhere. it could be something to search for on google...
i've been increasingly interested in finding a free (or super cheap) dial-up service to get my dreamcast online, since i'm always hoping to soon get rid of my computer since all i "need" to do is check email and maybe go to a couple forums. nothing a dreamcast can't do even today, am i right?
