Backwards compatible PS3 lag on an SDTV VIA component

Post by fuctfuct »

I just found a pretty good deal on an old 60GB PS3

Been reading about the lag and it seems its mostly a problem when using HDMI 480p/720p/1080p. From what i read there isn't any lag if you are outputting 480i. Can anyone confirm?

Shouldn't even be noticeable. There's the slightest lag from the wireless controller, but 99.5% of people will not notice. Sounds like you are using a CRT which would not add any noticeable lag.

LCDs have a slight lag depending on the TV and settings. Even then, a lot of people probably will not notice. My LCD TV does not noticeably lag, but I have played on some screens that are pretty bad.

On the other hand you will have trouble reading some of the text on an SDTV with a PS3. Most content is optimized for HD. When played in 480i/ it can be difficult to read.
