Picked up a 3DO lot - FZ-1 that is in good shape w/ one controller.

Came with 8 games CILB - i'm verifying SSFIIT has it's long box though (shows just case/manual). The others do - the SSF long box would be a sweet bonus.

I put the vpgc price next to the games but being that these are complete, these prices are low imo.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo ($5 - this price is way off from digging around)
Way of the Warrior ($16)
Need for Speed ($9)
Jurassic Park Interactive ($8)
Demolition Man ($12)
Crime Patrol ($11)
Mad Dog McCree ($4)
Mad Dog McCree 2 ($10)

I paid $96 + shipping in a pretty closely contested auction. I was really excited for the complete - like new- Way of the Warrior. Can't get enough mid-90s Mortal Kombat clones, right? I knew that game had the most collector value. I've got some other smaller lots lined up to get other titles and controllers. I know you can easily burn here too but I really look to avoid that.

How'd I do here?

Another great week.
Everything here came from the same thrift store: Deseret Industries (locations: http://providentliving.org/content/disp ... -1,00.html) . I realize these things all coming from the same place, the prices make no sense. That's just how D.I. rolls. Depending on what manager is working when the stuff comes in, the prices vary wildly from day to day.

Image

Nintendo Entertainment System - Ac adapter, RF switch, Satellite wireless multitap - $6.00
2 NES Controllers - $2.00
Metroid - $1.00
Contra - $1.00
Super Mario Bros. 2 - $1.00
Super Mario Bros. 3 - $1.00
Pac-Man - $1.00
Tetris - $1.00
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - $1.00
Blades of Steel - $1.00

Some of the most common NES games, to be sure. But at $1 they are some welcome trade fodder.

Image

Nintendo 64 - AC adapter, RAM expansion cart - $4.00
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Gold) - $1.00
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Grey) - $3.00
GoldenEye 007 - $3.00
Yoshi's Story - $3.00
Hey You, Pikachu! - $1.00
Mission: Impossible - $1.00

Image

Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro (PS1) - $2.00
Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel (SNES) - $3.00
NBA Jam: Tournament Edition (SNES) - $3.00
Sonic The Hedgehog (Game Gear) - $2.00
weird Atari 2600 joystick - $1.00
even weirder Atari 2600 joystick - $1.00
Batista: I Walk Alone DVD - $4.00
Art Spiegelman - Breakdowns - $1.00

I've not read any Art Spiegelman books before. Not even Maus. I read the first few sections of this though and it's incredibly personal, dark and striking.

Interesting story. I go to this store everyday, and I'm generally familiar with the other video game buyers that frequent there. Typically gawky teenagers. But today same crazy old lady (I'm thinking early 60s) got to the NES games before me and had about a dozen in her shopping cart. I didn't try to peek at them, I find it incredibly rude when other people do that to the stuff I'm buying, but I'm pretty sure they were some damn good games. And she wasn't buying them for her grandson or anything either. She struck up a conversation with the cashier about whether she could return the games if they didn't work, because she often can't play her NES games she buys there. Also, there were a few other items there (a loose 2600 with some very common games, another NES, loose N64, loose DreamCast) that I passed on but saw a man in his late 40s buy all of them. All this time I've been looking out for the kids (one of whom asked me once, as I was looking through a stack of Atari 2600 games, if they were "cassettes") when I should have been looking out for these smelly, eccentric old people.

Where is this store!? Some very good deals there, a huge inventory.

My jaw dropped on the 2600 controller. No not the Wico which is a great leaf switch stick, but the other one, I thought it was the Le Stick controller.

Well, say they got into gaming in the late 70's, while they were already young adults, like say, 20. Today, they'd be old. Just shows how old gaming is getting.

I went to a new thrift shop in town that just opened up, and I got Marvel Super Heroes for PS1 for $1. It had it's original case, but the manual was missing, and it was scratched. But for $1, I gave it a shot anyways. And lucky me, both my PS1 & my PS2 read the disc just fine. :D

I also got Columns for the Sega Genesis for $2. Not a fantastic game, but a fun one and any decent game at that price is a deal.

Killlzone - $6 via Savers
COD: Finest Hour - $2 via Thrift
Fallout - $1 via thrift

All in great condition (I dont buy stuff unless it is), becoming harder and harder to find black label killzones.
