NES/SNES Trackball

Post by Para »

Does anyone know of a trackball that I can get for a super nintendo or nes? I didn't put this in the BST section yet because I have only seen one NES trackball before and I am don't know anything about them. (where to get then, prices, Which ones are good, etc)

If anyone has one or two decent working trackballs for either system I will gladly buy them

Typed this on my phone ignore errors and stuff

Quickshot Trackball

The Quickshot Trackball was an NES controller with two buttons, a limited-movement trackball, and a switch to set it for either a right-handed or left-handed player. Like most non-standard NES controllers of the time, it was difficult to work properly, as games usually were not designed with it in mind. An exception is Marble Madness, which turned out to be a natural match for the controller.
this is for nes. what games did you need to use it in snes?

i think technically the nes and snes use the same pin out for the american systems, just the end of the wire is different.

I mainly wanted it for marble madness but I was also wondering if anyone knew of other Nes or SNES games that would work well with a track ball? I have a retro duo too so I can use SNES controllers for my Nes games if need be so that helps a lot when finding cool controllers.

I remember seeing a Japanese trackball controller for the famicom but I haven't been able to find that again.

Does anyone actually have the NES Quickshot Trackball to verify?

I seem to remember that it has switches underneath, not sensor wheels. Not really a trackball, just a D-Pad controlled by a dome.

Thought I was remembering the same thing from the one time I saw one in person. More like just a kid friendly big D-pad.
