Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I'm using the default Glossy Blue. I just tried AcidTech and it seems that pages render/load slower than GlossyBlue. Has anyone else observed this?
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
my gf called the Dreamcast Visual Memory Unit a Tamagotchi. I'm undecided if this is sad or cute. All I know is its kinda retarded.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I think someone has mentioned in these forums that Google implemented a reverse image search. I just tried it just now and found it pretty cool. Now I know the meaning behind some of the people's avatars.

BoringSupreez, Stark, Hobie-wan, I don't remember if you guys were all here for the old forum design or not, but AcidTech looks considerably close to how the forum used to look several years ago. Many of the older users on here (including the majority of the moderating staff) use it because it harkens back to the old design of the website, the way it looked when many of us joined.dsheinem wrote:Anyone not using AcidTech is a goddamn philistine.BoringSupreez wrote:Until just now, I forgot that there were any board styles other than GlossyBlue. Man, is it ever obvious that most everyone's avatar was intended to be used in GlossyBlue when I try using AcidTech for a minute!

I can appreciate that. I just wasn't here then so hold no nostalgia for it.Ack wrote:BoringSupreez, Stark, Hobie-wan, I don't remember if you guys were all here for the old forum design or not, but AcidTech looks considerably close to how the forum used to look several years ago. The wasted space annoys me more than the top having a PHPbb logo, racketboy as text, and no google search (since that apparently works better).

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I can remember the design being different back when I used to lurk, before I had an account, but I can't remember it too well. The main thing I remember is that it was black text on white, like GlossyBlue, which is why I started using GlossyBlue; it looked the most like what I was already used to. When exactly was the switch made, anyway?Ack wrote:BoringSupreez, Stark, Hobie-wan, I don't remember if you guys were all here for the old forum design or not, but AcidTech looks considerably close to how the forum used to look several years ago. 2008-2009ish, but I'm not sure of the exact date. the thing is, the old forums were white text on black back then and had a very similar image to the AcidTech style. There are some changes, but I don't really remember what they were.BoringSupreez wrote:I can remember the design being different back when I used to lurk, before I had an account, but I can't remember it too well. I stick to glossyblue because I like it (and because its been the default standard since I joined), but I'd use Acidtech if I ever felt like switching. I liked it when I tried it.
I hate both of the silver styles though. So plain and boring. Those styles lose all of the racketboy identity.
