Trying to track down a board game
Trying to track down a board game
So in my quest to remember more things from my youth, when I was a kid there was a board game I owned that I really enjoyed. The gimmick with it was that during play the initial starting board would fold out because you stepped in to a portal that warped you to a new land. As a consequence the original top of the board would be inaccessable (as it's now face down on the table) until you warped again. I believe the goal was to aquire a certain piece of treasure or treasures that would randomly be found in select spaces on the board, and you'd have to fight monsters. This ringing a bell for anyone? I probably played it in the early 90's.

He does seem to be exhibiting symptoms with all these "I played as a kid and want ot find again" threads. Going to be having an early black cake perhaps?CRTGAMER wrote:I don't know the board game but waiting to hear when you buy a red sports car.

Re: Trying to track down a board game
Well done!
lol, nahh. What happened is I snagged the book Dungeons & Desktops which got me to thinking about early RPGs. Which then reminded me of that strategy game my buddy had which turned out to be Fantasy Empires. And that got me thinking about other awesome stuff from my childhood. He does seem to be exhibiting symptoms with all these "I played as a kid and want ot find again" threads. Too bad it goes for a decent amount on eBay. Not too bad, but more than I'd wanna spend on a game no one would ever play with me. I'll just download the ROM instead.
Maybe if you get it I'll come over some time and play it with you. If I lose, I'll be a sore loser and thaw out Solo.
