That actually just happened to me.
About a month ago, I found a bunch of cheap $1 NES games at the pawn shop that I didn't own but decided to pick up and try before maybe selling them at a garage sale I was doing. Anyway, one of them was "Ivan Stewart's Super Off Road." And I remember back in the day I had tried this game in the arcades and thought that it was sort of fun but that the control was totally off, like the steering wheel was too sensitive or something and my truck was all over the damned track!
But I gave the NES version a try and realized.. "Hey now. This version is actually A LOT of fun!"
Then tonight, I decided to try the arcade version on MAME with my standard gamepad and.. HOLY CRAP. I THINK I'M IN LOVE!
I can't believe I totally dismissed this game for all these years just because of my bad experiences with the arcade steering wheel.
Have you guys/gals had any similar gaming experiences?
