Are these legit sealed Genesis games?

Post by Damien_Da »

Hello, I can't find any info on sealed Genesis games. Maybe someone can help me. I bought these at a Flea Market recently and just sold them. When I started to package them I looked a little closer at the seams and only one looked like a real sealed game. I should've done a little more research when I actually put them up for sale. Any help on if any of these are real factory seals would be greatly appreciated!

I also noticed that these games have the same type of seam/hang tag on the back. I don't know if because one is an EA game and the other isn't if they should be different in any way. The game on the right has a white sticker towards the bottom too. Don't know if that matters.

I'm only going through the trouble because I don't want the buyer to be unsatisfied. I've already asked if he would like his money back and let him know I don't think they're legit sealed Genesis games. Thanks!

Go back to the main racketboy page, there was just a video reposted about spotting fakes.

Yeah, I've watched it. It doesn't really go into much detail. Just says they'll have a bottom seam. These do but they kind of look resealed. I don't know how straight the seal is supposed to be or if it is supposed to be a smooth seal.

I used to seal games at [gamestop]. You can tell if you're unsure by the texture of the plastic. PLus if it has a bad seam, the games was repacked. I used to spot them all the time when people would try and sell me "unopened games" or return brand new ones. I'd open it in front of them and be all, "Nice Try, but this AOL disc isnt worth it."

Hey now, you wouldn't believe the amount of fun I've had with those AOL discs over the years!

the two black case ones are definitely fake. I had a copy of OutRun for the Master System sealed like that, and I opened it and it didn't even have a manual inside.
