Ever had games/console/ electronics stolen ?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Holy shit have I ever!! I have my so called "brother", whom I no longer speak to, to blame for that. It's a sad thing really to have to steal something as pety as video game carts & music cds to support your drug habit but that's part of what makes them sad and pathetic. I honestly can not put a number on it but it was mostly my NES and Genesis carts collection that suffered. The fucked up part is he was the one who bought me my Sega Genesis console! That's how it goes though, attempt to make up for the bad with something good but continue to stab you the back anyways.

I think I actually lent Kung Fu for NES to a friend who lent it to someone else and claimed he couldn't find it! Right. Tell me another one. I believe my friend gave me Pro Wrestling for NES to make up for it. I love both games so it still sucked.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

In early 2009 I was in a rut and really needed money, so I decided to sell my Wii and like 8 games over craigslist. Long story short someone in Chicago (few states away from me) contacted me about it via email and we worked some stuff out, then I saw the payment through paypal was "ready" sitting there but they had to completely confirm it or something. Well simply put they never did, even though I had stupidly already shipped everything out. I'm not sure how or what happened and I'm already a little fuzzy about it (and very tired at the moment), but yeah... I'm thinking they had a illegitimate paypal account or something. I took the issue to paypal and discovered they have probably the worst customer service I've ever witnessed and resolved nothing with them. I realized the address I sent it too had no telephone number either.

So yeah, a Wii and a handful of games were stolen. A big lesson learned for sure. To this day I still have the UPS received/info slip and all, maybe I can do something about it sometime but perhaps it's too late...

Luckily I got a full time job like a week or two after this incident at the time, but it was utterly annoying and I haven't bothered with craigslist since, or big payments through paypal like that.

I think the general rule of thumb with craigslist is to never ship anything. Make sure it's all local.

I've never bought anything off of there, but I occasionally browse it and often will find people who don't know/care about what they're selling getting rid of nice stuff dirt cheap.

Still wish I would've jumped on that boxed Snowboard Kids 2 I found on there once.

Many years ago, someone in my neighborhood stole my first Sega Genesis along with my Sonic games from our unlocked car. (I had just come back from another relative's, and I left my Genesis in the car to go enjoy a nice day outside.)

I used to collect DVD box sets. One of my girlfriends started letting the wrong people into my apartment.

I lost my Jackie Brown special edition box set, my Chasing Amy criterion collection (with the bonus comic book), and my Donnie Darko directors cut box set among many other missing DVDs. Luckily, I prefer the original cut of Donnie Darko which only costs about five bucks. I still have no replacement for Jackie Brown or Chasing Amy. My other Quentin Tarantino and Kevin Smith movies feel lonely without their missing siblings.

I've talked to that naive girl about trusting shady people, and she told me that she'd rather get burned than turn into a cynic like me. I eventually had to cut her loose. I heard she wound up crack-whoring.
