I had no insurance, that happened.Hobie-wan wrote:Indeed. Some sort of health insurance stupidity?jfrost wrote:Ouch. How did that happen?Xeogred wrote:Ticked? More like speechless. I just got a call about a surgery I had in last October and now I'm about $9,000 in dept.

I figured out I had a hernia sometime last year, which can only be repaired via surgery. So there were no options and I didn't want it to get any worse. I put down a large down payment when I went in for the surgery and like 8 months later my family and I were hoping they had dropped it or something... guess that was wishful thinking. I wasn't working either last year (which was dumb because I had the time too) and was just going back to college throughout the whole year, and so far this year all I've had was this little seasonal job that just ended and only gave me enough money to get by... eat some food, and put some gas in my car, little things like that. So I'm unemployed now too and made sure the people who called me knew about that. Luckily I've got a handful of good options and am trying a lot harder than ever before to apply and get a half decent job somewhere, but yeah. I guess I'll be paying this off for months maybe even years for awhile.
I still can't wrap my head around this and the timing.

Ticked (not really): Too many of you changed your damn avatars recently! It's confusing! ya jerks
Big Smile: Landed a job interview where I almost surely will be one of the more qualified applicants and a better fit for the position than others. My freelance work (don't have my own equipment yet) just can't quite cut paying the bills lately, and this would allow me to pay the bills and save up for my own equipment. Definitely going to bring my A game.

Oh, and on a related note to Taco Doritos being back, Cookie and Cream Pop Tarts are back too. They're basically (or are) the same as Vanilla ones.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Ticked: I have a nearly $400 power bill, a $120 cable bill, I'm unable to pay my $440 rent bill, I'm expecting a $700 bill from the federal government from taxes, and I owe about $400 in dues on my student loans, for a grand total of $2060 due by the end of the month.
On top of that I may have to pay the rental office for a plumber to come in and snake my bathtub. The drain is clogged. I've used two different types of Liquid Plumber, plunged it for several hours, and used a small plastic clog remover to no avail. My girlfriend and I are having to go to my mother's house for showers.
Smiled: I got a job today.
Ticked: It's at Waffle House, so I'm surviving off tips.
Smiled: My girlfriend also got a job.
Ticked: Her orientation isn't until July 17, so we likely won't see a paycheck until August. She'll also be a waitress.

That sucks, man, congrats on the jobs though. Maybe there is some non-gaming related items you could put in your trade thread to try and get you through?Ack wrote:*Whole lot of bad news with some sprinklings of good*

My brother gave me his car when he moved to South Korea. It's a piece of junk, but I'm contemplating selling it. I need to talk to my girlfriend and my brother about it.Stark wrote:That sucks, man, congrats on the jobs though. have you considered snaking the drain yourself? snakes are relatively cheap (http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?par ... RRWidgetID) and using them isn't hard (http://www.lowes.com/cd_Clear+Clogged+Drains_587687001_)

Thanks Ds. I'm glad to be working, though I'm not exactly thrilled with the location.dsheinem wrote:congrats(?) on the job, at least you'll feel better than being unemployed.

I actually know very little about plumbing, so I wasn't aware of how cheap drain snakes were. Doing it myself would probably be for the best. Thanks for the advice, I'll probably try running to Lowe's and Home Depot tonight to compare prices.
