As for arcade racers, I know the game got a bad rap but I do love Offroad Challenge.

N64 actually has a really solid library and I just recently started collecting for it again. I used to have a significant amount of titles for the N64 all boxed in great condition. Unfortunately, I had to sell them off during my early college days so now I'm slowly rebuilding my collection.

I recently acquired Rogue Squadron and Wipeout 64 for a measly $4.50 shipped. I also purchased Beetle Adventure Racing for a wallet busting $2.50, lol.

N64 is definitely a fun system with some really classic titles and some quality exclusives as well.

As far as I'm concerned, there's only one must have game for the N64, Robotron 64. Yeah, there's Zeldas and Goldeneyes, but you can find action adventures and FPSs anywhere. But good multidirectional shooters are few and far between. The game did get ports to the PSX and PC as "Robotron X", but it's vastly inferior. Get Robotron 64, you won't be sorry.

Wasn't that game delayed for a super long time? I just assumed it'd be bad.

The thing is for FPS in that console generation is that you really couldn't. At least not high quality FPS titles worth playing on consoles. There are a few I would play on the Sega Saturn or Sony PlayStation, but even at their best they generally paled compared to GoldenEye 007. The genre didn't really get going on consoles until the generation following that one, but that never would have happened without the success of titles like GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, and the Turok series.

If you're a fan of FPS, particularly console FPS, you should do yourself a favor and look into GoldenEye.

Lots of the PS and Sat FPS were just inferior ports of PC games too, so if you want to play them you might as well get the PC versions.

Exactly. Console FPS really hadn't come into its own by this point. Sure it was getting there, but the majority of them were ports just like they had been in the previous generation with the likes of Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, and Faceball.

IMO, Goldeneye is almost unplayable for me. :| The controls are what get me. Why didn't they stick with just the stick for movement and looking? I don't get it.... it also makes me a little scared to get other FPS's on this system... :(
In goldeneye you can change the controls around and use two controllers like a dual sstick setup. I cant remember if it made it any better but you can change it around.

Medal of Honor maybe? Popular at any rate.
