I can really respect collecting. But hoarding sealed games? Sigh. That's just wrong in my book. If someone had a complete set of PS2 games that were open and they played those games, then I'd really dig it.

that is just awesome. especially that it is all sealed.
and about the hoarding? come on. each game probably had million pressed. don't worry, there are still plenty of other copies to go around. there is a big difference between collecting an entire set and hoarding.

With how big a collector he is, he probably has open copies of all the PS2 games he actually wants to play already.noiseredux wrote:yeah but why would'nt THAT guy want to play them??final fight cd wrote:that is just awesome. especially that it is all sealed.

just because they are sealed doesn't mean he doesn't have his favorite games loose to play.

i am sure he spent a lot more than a few hours looking for a certain game sealed.BoringSupreez wrote:brunoafh wrote: Some games take hours of searching fruitlessly to find. A collection like that takes a lot of dedication.
and that is why i love collecting. and it doesn't have to be video games. when you search for something for over a year and you finally find a copy is just a great feeling.

The point is that that guy's collection is god damned ridiculous. Those games were pressed to be played, not to be thrown on a shelf for no good reason. I admit that I have a bit of the collector mentality going on, but stuff like this just makes me laugh to myself. Every one of those sealed copies he has could be getting perfectly good play time by someone like you or I. Instead they're just sitting in shrink wrap collecting dust so some guy can get some bizarre sense of satisfaction and be like "yeah... I'm awesome" every time he passes by his meaningless shelf of hoarded PS2 games.
edit: It's just the principal of it. I know it's not going to have any actual repercussions on gamers, but it's just so stupid.
