It was outside? In 300 degree weather!?

Attention, Austin locals, especially those that fancy hunting xenomorphs with pulse rifles...
Aliens will be showing at the Paramount Theater downtown at 7pm this Friday, July 8th. Unless the theater adds another show date, this is the only scheduled showing for Aliens this summer. I can't confirm this, but it is my understanding that Aliens will be presented in film format, not simply popping in a DVD and hitting play. This will complete the trifecta for me: in the last two and a half years, I've seen The Terminator and Predator in 35mm film format at another Austin movie theater. So, Aliens in an actual theater is a must for me.
By the way, buying a ticket entitles you to stay for the double feature: Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home - another sci-fi movie from the same year as Aliens, 1986. As a matter of fact, both of these movies are celebrating their 25th anniversaries.

We got any kind of a date for the SoR meet up?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Probably sometime in August. I want to put this outside of the Classic Game Fest events if we are to hold it at Game Over. I really like hosting events there as the location is good and the staff is always awesome and accommodating. And let's face it, those CRTs can't be beat.Flake wrote:We got any kind of a date for the SoR meet up?
I am also still trying to put together equipment. I have two Genisesesesessssisss, SOR 1, 2 and Remake running pretty flawless on this macbook. However, I do not have a way to hook this system up to a CRT and it may be impossible as this model only outputs digital. It could prove very expensive to string multiple adapters together to convert the signal to analog. So I am still looking for a SOR Remake on TV solution. I also need SOR3 (would rather it be Bare Knuckle 3).

Ah, but at least it'd been a dry heat recently. *sigh*indecks wrote:It was outside? In 300 degree weather!?

With enough warning, I might be able to make an August event.
