Actually, I think it looks more like Sonic Rush, except with full 3D backgrounds. If it play anything like Sonic Rush, it will be awesome.

I have hope for this title. Really when I was a kid, that is what I pictured a 3D sonic to look like.

My Sonic experience is fairly limited but I never got a sense of speed from watching Sonic do ups, downs loops and ramps while I didn't do anything for 20 seconds but hold right on the d pad. Fast thumbs make fast games, but I know there is a lot of love for Sega and the blue bomber here, sorry

It was announced today this game is in fact real. I'm not holding my breath however, since Sonic Team has poured out a stream of diarrhea for a long time. They stated it has exciting new gameplay mechanics including melee combat....hmmm? But also that it will (ONCE AGAIN) reinvent Sonic and bring back to his roots. Does anybody believe their crap anymore?

never herd anything about "melee" combat. And yes they have been working on the Unleash engine for 3 years so i am fairly confident it will be fun, also the Rivals and Rush games for handhelds are alot of fun.

seems on par with recent sonic releases.

If you want to trust Gamespot...melee is mentioned in there from Sega but melee could mean anything.

And the Rivals and Rush games, while some people do find them enjoyable, were not made by Sonic Team USA (or Japan), but mainly developed by Backbone and Dimps respectively. Sonic Team are the ones responsible for most of the recent Sonic missteps.

I don't know if it really gives it more credit but the video has been removed due to copy right claim by Sega of America
