TV Help
Hey guys, got a quick question. Are there any of the thin new TVs that the old systems look good on? Specifically N64, Gamecube, and (possibly) PS1/2 games played on a BC PS3.

every looks better until you get to 8 bit and older. you also need good wires, scart and s-video.

I thought the newer TVs didn't have S Video? And what is SCART?

The short answer is no. There will be input lag and it will never look as good as a properly calibrated decent CRT TV.

From my experience, 2D stuff can look great when combined with the proper scaler and tv. 3d on the other hand, depending on system (especially n64/ps1) is a hit or miss.

There is about a half second delay when I play my Dreamcast on my 40" LED TV, plus the picture gets a bit stretched.
I'd rather play it on an old TV anyway though, adds more to the mood.

How bad is the lag? I don't mind a little, but I can only have one TV (I'm still in High School, live with my parents) and my 32 inch tube is just too big for my little room. It works, but... oh man it takes up a quarter of the room practically. I just got an N64, (yesterday) and knowing it might be hit or miss is suckish...

Its noticeable but doesn't really effect that gameplay that much, feels a bit weird when you start though.The Last Horseman wrote:How bad is the lag? Maybe just get a smaller CRT TV?

You will need something like a XRGB for those old games to look really good on a HDTV , that will cost you though !
