Awesome, you finally got to go! I wish I would have read this sooner. I'm sure I could have gotten the wife on board for a trip.

I have a b-day coming up in mid-July. While I cannot necessarily throw a party, it would be fun to have a gathering at Pinz sometime near the date.

I went to Pinballz on Saturday night and I was very impressed with the reorganization of the games. The pinball machines were more tightly grouped into related thematic categories (sci-fi, based-on-action-movies, horror-themed, etc., etc., for example). Also, I noticed they put dark tint on all windows to make the arcade dark even during the day. In addition, they have added some hidden colored mood lighting in certain areas. For example, beneath one row of machines, the floor was illuminated in green. In another area, a hidden light gives a blue hue to the area/floor.

The "upper deck / upstairs" area is broken up a lot more instead of the previous 4 long rows of machines. There are smaller groupings of 4 machines back to back with another 4 machines. I like it, plus it further emphasizes how certain machines are grouped together.

Went there Sunday afternoon. I was sad to see that that horrible Dance Dance Revolution was STILL there taking up space with 0 people playing it, and there still isn't a Killer Instinct 1/2 or MKII cab in there.

I see they had a massive influx of Pins though, which is cool. I'm not a huge pinball player, but I do play them from time to time. Also nice to see they had a 4player TMNT arcade game in there, though it was placed oddly so me and 2 other friends had a hard time playing.

They need to get rid of DDR and the guitar hero game, burn them, and then replace them with good games.

LOL, that Guitar Hero cab makes my skin crawl every time I walk by it. People actually play the DDR, but not often. I agree, it needs to come out.

Just like the Time Crisis 4 at UFO needs to go bye-bye.

Hey guys, I am starting to put together plans for the Streets of Rage Remake meet up. I think it is safe to shoot for August if we plan to hold the event at Game Over.

Start posting your availability and what you might be able to contribute. We will need Genesis hardware and Streets of Rage 1 - 3 (or Bare Knuckle) cartridges. Then there is the matter of a PC with TV out so we can play the 'Remake on one of Game Over's massive CRTs.

Hey. New to the forum. I've been a collector for a while now, but have let up recently. It's time I had another retro gaming party.

Here's the info on the next get together:

Retro Gaming Fest - Austin (Round Rock), TX - July 23rd
I plan to break up the day into various eras and tournaments. It'll be an all day and night fest. This event is intended for adults.

I'll have pretty much most every console that's relevant set up and ready to go. I'll also have the following stand up arcade games running: Neo Geo 4-slot MVS w/tons of games, Gauntlet, Killer Instinct, and SF2T Hyper Fighting.

The schedule below is tentative.

1:00pm - 3:00pm - Setup and Practice
3:00pm - 5:00pm - 8-bit Olympics (Atari2600, NES, Odyssey, ColecoVision)
5:00pm - 7:00pm - 16-bit Olympics (SNES, Genesis, TG16, NeoGeo)
7:00pm - 8:00pm - 32-bit+ Olympics (PS1, Saturn, N64, Jaguar)
8:00pm - 10:00pm - Catch Up Time / Free Play / Dinner (Pitch in for Pizza)
10:00pm - 12:00pm - Randomized Team Tournament
12:00am - 2:00am - Arcade Olympics
2:00am - ??? - Free Play

PM for directions. I have a Facebook Event set up, so if you'd like, you can request to become my FB friend.

P.S. I also play twice a week at Pinballz in their Tue and Thu leagues. So if you go to PBz on Tue/Thu between 7 and close, you'll likely see me there too. ;)

I'm going to be out of town for a couple of days, but I'm returning to Austin on Sunday, July 3rd, and I'm going to try to make it to Game Over's Street Fighter Sunday. I'm aiming to at least be there for the SF2 Turbo tournament at 7pm. Even if I don't get there in time to sign-up to participate, I'll probably still hang out and spectate. I just wanted to mention that in case anyone else was planning to go.

Thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten it was this Sunday. If I'm free I will be there. Willie and I were talking about getting together to game on Sunday anyway.
