Agreed! You're the one eating it, not the person that's grossed out right? :p
I also think most sweet tea (especially stuff like Nestea cans) is bleh. Unsweetened tea, hot or cold, is the best. But to each their own.

Sweetened cold tea is just about the most refreshing drink you can have. Most unsweetened cold tea tastes like the shit I pull out of my gutters strained in water.
There definitely is a fine line though between sweetened tea and the syrup water they serve at Bojangles. Make mine sun tea with a little sugar, where I can still taste the tea.

See, this is key. My favoite Iced Tea is actually a gallon of home-brewed green tea with a tablespoon of lemon and a teaspoon of honey. Amazing.
I may have already told this story, but at our first dinner at North Carolina (moved from Columbus Ohio, and previously lived in Chicago) my Mother ordered a cup of tea after dinner. The waitress brought sweetened ice tea. My Mother kindly explained she wanted a cup of tea. So the waitress brought her non-sweetened ice tea. Again my Mother asked for a cup of warm tea. So then the waitress, puzzled responded, "Warm tea? Oh, I think what you want is coffee".
Tea in the South reminds me of water in Europe, as you really have to specify what you're asking for. "Water, no bubbles, on ice".
i turn my back from the thread for 2 or 3 days and i find we are on the subject of tea....wow, gotta love that.
my two bits, i like green tea. but i usually just get the 99 cents Arizona green tea...even though i know it's not the best i could get, it's just cheap.
I never drink iced tea or cold tea, but I love hot tea. I guess it really comes down to the reasoning for why I drink tea in the first place; to have a warm, relaxing drink. Since I can't do that with cold tea, it makes it kind of pointless to drink [for my interests, anyway].

Same here. Just tea and boiling water, steeped for 3 minutes. I'm mostly a coffee drinker, so I really only drink tea when I need a small boost of caffeine and don't want to brew a whole pot.
