Yeah, if I remember correctly, 'Splosion Man had a similar achievement that was clearly a parody.lisalover1 wrote:Although, that may just be a parody of bad achievements; I certainly wouldn't put it past the game.

Is it wrong of me to have gotten this achievement without realizing it was an achievement?the7k wrote:Also from Red Dead Redemption: Dastardly.

Nearly every achievement in Achievement Unlocked is great and meaningful.

That's right. You got an achievement for going into the options and "customizing" your controls.Stark wrote:Yeah, if I remember correctly, 'Splosion Man had a similar achievement that was clearly a parody.lisalover1 wrote:Although, that may just be a parody of bad achievements; I certainly wouldn't put it past the game.
Every single button in the game did the same thing, but hey.
I thought it was a funny bit.
I can't wait for Ms. 'Splosion Man.
Also, regarding Dastardly:
Possibly. Do you have a long, curly waxed mustache that you twirl around your finger while laughing in a demented manner?Ack wrote:Is it wrong of me to have gotten this achievement without realizing it was an achievement?

Re: Best achievements/trophies
I was gonna put this in my first post, but anyway. Peter Moore achievement in Dishwasher Dead Samurai. That got a laugh out of me. The guy designing those Dishwasher games seems to love throwing jabs at people with his achievements
I had a proud moment getting the Perfect Fight achievement in Alien Hominid. That game is so ridiculously cheap, most players used co-op to get it but I managed it the hard way. You had to beat the final boss without using a continue
A couple games that I think did achievements/trophies perfectly:
Viva Pinata
LEGO Star Wars II
XMen Origins Wolverine
Batman Arkham Asylum
Monkey Island SE
Comix Zone
Ratchet & Clank Crack in Time
The Dishwasher
Rez HD
Viva Pinata
Final Fantasy 13(It felt so good to finally play an FF game that I could get trophies for since I always would go the distance with doing all the optional stuff in them anyway)
Easiest game to 100%:
King Kong

I generally dislike achievements, but Super Meat Boy gives you an achievement for a 100% complete in the game called "Golden God" that I think is a well deserved title.

I thought we were talking about the best, not WORST. DAMN GNOME STAY IN THE FREAKING CAR HOLY CRAP!FiftyDollarCurse wrote:The best achievement ever is easily "Little Rocket Man" from Half-Life 2: Episode 2.
Which, if you don't know, is for carrying the little garden gnome you find in a shed at the beginning of the game with you, for the entire game, and putting it into the rocket at the end of the game before it takes off.
Re: Best achievements/trophies
I didn't care too much for the game, but I loved the fact that all of the Mercenaries 2 achievements were named after Rock 'n' Roll and Heavy Metal song titles.

Magicka has one for completing all the sidequests in the game. There's a grand total of one sidequest. Most of theirs are references. Civ V has one called My Little Pony you get by unlocking horsemanship first while playing as Catherine the Great.

Re: Best achievements/trophies
I was going to make a new topic for this, but I'll just use this one. Course, I could make a separate topic if it interests anyone. For my own curiosity, what games have you guys gotten all trophies and achievements for? Also, are you playing anything now that you're going for all trophies/achievements in?
It'll be interesting to see what games actually motivated you guys enough to go the distance with them. I'm shooting for all achievements right now in Alice Madness Returns, which means I'll have to play through the original Alice again. I'm looking forward to that though. I'm hoping it got a nice HD makeover. As for games I already got all achievement/trophies for, all the ones in my last post except for Rez HD I got 100% on. I also got 100% in Castlevania:SOTN, Bioshock, Alien Hominid and acquired all of the single player ones in Stranglehold, Golden Axe, Castle Crashers and Streets of Rage 2
