As many of you know, Piracy is rampant in video games. You don't have to look far to run into a pirate, so I'd like to take some time to discuss this.
The pirates I'm referring to, of course, are King K. Rool, Risky Boots, Captian Syrup, Tetra, LeChuck, etc.
So yeah, what are some good games with pirate themes, bosses, levels, characters, etc?
...betting 50 doubloons this has been done before

I heard Galeon is great, the Pirates Of The Caribbean RPG for the Xbox and PC is pretty cool too.
Also, Final Fantasy XII and Skies Of Arcadia feature lots of piracy

Re: Video Game Piracy
I think there's one on the Genesis called Pirates. I have it, but I've never played it.

Re: Video Game Piracy
Sly Cooper 3 has a whole chapter devoted to pirates. It seems inspired by Monkey Island. There's an insult contest at one point in the game, which is the most obvious reference. There are also treasure sections where you read clues and then take a certain number of paces towards whatever object on the map the clue is referring too.
One section of the game has you sailing around engaging in duels with other ships. It's one of the most fun parts of the game as you first have to engage in cannon based battle with one or more ships. If your ship takes damage you have to run around and fix the leaks in the hull. You lose cannons too if they take direct hits. Winning the fights is largely about maneuvering your ship properly to get out of other ships' line of fire or dodge incoming shots. When you incapacitate another ship you can sink it with one more shot or sail over to it, leap aboard, and engage in some swashbuckling combat with the captain and his crew to try and take their loot. The game keeps a ranking that goes up as you take out more and more ships, which is similar to a rank system Curse of Monkey Island had I think.
There's also a one on one dual with the main villain of that chapter that takes place on a 2d plane and you have to tap the analog in certain directions to dodge his sword attacks and hit him with appropriate attacks of your own which he will try to dodge too. It's very rock, paper, scissors.
There's other fun stuff you do in that chapter too as Sly 3 is all about constantly switching up the gameplay so you don't quite know what you'll be doing next

I always wanted to play Pirates of the Burning Sea, but I never got around to it. Super Mario World had a sunken pirate ship, iirc.
