i usually do it in the mid level of the write speed, all the games that i burned work fine

I burn at 4x no matter what console is in question. Definitely makes a difference, especially with PS1 stuff.

Whatever the lowest my drive will allow. I think it's 8X.

I specifically burn with my old laptop since it will do 4x. The one in my main machine will only go down to 16 or 20. I have plenty of older drives, just not in machines that are hooked up. So out comes the laptop.

Been playing burnt games for over 12 years and still no delays or problems even using the swap trick (couldn't find the right mod chip back in the day so I just gave up) and burning at 8-16 speed.

Honestly, a Saturn running mostly burned games seems to last longer than a PS1/2 playing legit games, for whatever that's worth.

Seriously? I did hear stuff about the swap trick being harmful to Saturn consoles.

If possible i always burn at no faster than 4X. The faster you burn it, the harder some drives have reading it. And this goes for Music players/video game systems/movies on DVD.. etc etc.

If you're using a chip. Swapping discs while the drive is spinning will put undue strain on the motor and potentially wear it out.

Honestly, the Saturn mod chips are so inexpensive and so easy to install, there is really no reason to be using the swap trick.
