Smile: Was greeted by Deus Ex: Human Revolution advertising when I went to the Gamefaqs home page today. Finally, I've been waiting years for that game.

I know what you mean. I wrote about THPS 1 & 2 for GameSpite a few months ago and hearing those soundtracks again for the first time in like... jeez almost a decade just felt so smiley.Kwixotik wrote:Smile: I put in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (N64) and was nostalgia-bombed by the soundtrack

When I hear a song that was on THPS2 I automatically think that I'm going to hear the next one in a row that always played in the game.
Awesome game. Even awesomer was the fact that I scored it for free years ago with a packet of cereal >.<

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
So, I swerved to avoid the bastard and hit a patch of gravel on the little bit of grassy on-ramp median that was left behind me with my rear wheels (which have the most wonderful set of bald tires on them
The brake pedal being slammed down of course made my brakes lock up after which I proceeded to slide across the median and onto the center of the two oncoming lanes of traffic. I responded by freaking the fuck out, ramming onto the accelerator, rocketing forward onto the right side of the road and up onto the soft earth embankment on the side where I came to a stop.
In the end I came out of it without a scratch or even a single dent on the car. But, things were not as they seemed, after getting out and genuinely freaking out for a second I proceeded to encounter a Sheriff's Deputy who saw it all happen. He then took a statement, stopped traffic so I could turn around proper to get back onto the highway and sent me on my way.
I then go to park in a lot to inspect the car and see what happened to it and apart from my muffler being twisted and mangled pretty badly (still works but needs to be replaced ASAP) and my front right wheel well's splash guard coming undone in the impact it seemed fine. Then I smelt the anti-freeze and saw the green puddle from where the big rock had slammed into the radiator from underneath the car when I flew off road. The radiator was hit so hard in fact that it rammed up and bent the metal support that holds the hood down. The hood still locks just fine thankfully, but now sits about an inch above level with the fenders like it should be.
So, bruised and beaten I trundled to my repair shop in town all the while watching my engine temp gauge with tepid and insidious fear at every light and each hill. Then the warning lights started going off and the danger beep began going insane as the last of the coolant's majority seeped out of the system and the temperature skyrocketed.
Being the crazy fuck I am I gunned the accellerator for all of 5 seconds and up the last hilly street, killed the engine and coasted along downhill towards my destination in neutral. Thankfully I just barely made it into the parking lot with what momentum I had left and parked it by the skin of my teeth.
According to my mechanic it's going to be about $300 for the radiator fix (w/parts and labor), $200-ish for the muffler to be replaced (w/parts and labor). But hey, at least I'm not dead.

At least you're ok and nobody was hurt. Radiators and mufflers are easy enough to fix, as opposed to body panels and lights and things on older vehicles. Sucks, but nothing that can't be mended.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Adventures with asshats

Thanks guys!
It wasn't too bad in the end, It's all just turning out to be an expensive headache. I have no way to buy any parts or anything (yay, broke living) so my whole collection is back up for sale.
