Just another reason to not buy a 3DS. Maybe I'll get one several years down the road when nintendo has given up on trying to block flashcards.

Honestly, this is fascinating but pretty fucked up at the same time. Who will win in the end? Or maybe everyone will lose. >_>
It doesn't matters who wins, we all lose.

Why is that? You're okay with the fact that once you finish the game it's a paper weight?
How is it a paperwieght? This isn't final fantasy; it's an arcade shooter designed for repetition.

Did you read the article. That's exactly what we're all upset about. There will be no repetition. You finish the game, that's it.

except that's not how the game works. You select a mission from the menu. You pkay it. Maybe you unlock something. Then you can play it again to get a better score; you just can't reunlock the stuff you already have. So after some amount of time all you can do is try to beat your old scores. So the only limitation is if you want to sell it, or you're the type who likes to erase his master saves and re-earn everything.

Not only that but this is not a trend that should become standard practice... it's not just this game we're all worried about, at least that's what I think.

I rally don't blame publishers for wanting to do stuff like this. The used game industry takes a huge toll on the abilkty of a studio to fund their work. The closet analog in germs of budgets are movies, but those have a ridiculous tail on them. First ther's the theater sales. Then airliners. Then the premium movie channels. Then rentals. Then home sales. Woth the vast majority of games (especially console releases) you get two months to make your moneyy, and that's it. Services like steam end up helping both ends. First thry can't be resold, and second theyget a longer tail because the cost of having games stretching back decades is minimal, compared to retail. And even used game sales wouldn't be a huge problem, except that gamestop realised they can make far more money selling used games rather than new, and shifted their marketing to convice the greater public that you should play a game once and get rid of it.

Apparently. Look, if you don't like it then let capcom know. But don't paint it like this makes the game useless, and don't paint capcom as an evil company out to do harm to their consumers.

If what you say is correct Mr. Popo, it certainly makes the article seem misleading.

I wonder if Gamestop will carry this game used or not?
