Whataya Buyin'? Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D. Whataya sellin'? Not Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D.....
Re: Whelp, another reason to boycott Capcom.
Glad I've already stopped caring about Capcom quite a bit this gen. As Hobie said, this right here is ultra bullshit:
Good job.
So not only does it hit others, but YOU as well. It's been confirmed that Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D for the Nintendo 3DS is a game that once finished, cannot be reset for complete replay. According to both the U.S. and U.K. game's instruction manual "saved data on this software cannot be reset."
Good job.
Re: Whelp, another reason to boycott Capcom.
I like all the flawed analogies here. From the article:
No, this actually is NOTHING like what Capcom is doing. Capcom is simply saying that the used value of a game is going to plummet like crazy. But they don't get any cut of the money of a used game, even if it's only $5 now. It's like saying Upperdeck is entitled to a cut in my autographed Michael Jordan basketball card I sold at a garage sale for $10,000 some 25 years after I bought it.
Yeah, this analogy is suspect too. Sure, there's something to be said about replaying a game from scratch but a game like this should still be fun even after you unlock everything. It'd be more akin to the Terminator 2 DVD that had two distinct director's cuts on top of the original movie, and if you decided to view one of them you couldn't view the original movie anymore.AppleQueso wrote:A lot of studios would LOVE to do this honestly.noiseredux wrote:it's bullshit. eventually ill just give up gaming and put all my time and money into fixing up cars, you cant pirate a car or download a car, but you can re-sell it and the car companies dont give a fuck!Hobie-wan wrote:Wow, that's an incredibly dickish move on Capcom's part. As per the article, you can't even replay it properly yourself. This is gonna hit the bargain bin in a hurry once the general public knows.
6 posts in and someone is already talking about stealing games, which will lead to this thread's ruin. FYI a lot of people (ie non-enthusiasts) don't finish games they buy, so in your scenario hardly anyone would pay for games.Hazerd wrote:ill admit, i use a R4 card on my DS-Lite, but only because i hate buying DS games to never finish them, i dont see any harm done, shouldnt a game only be worth its full price for actually beating it?
Re: Whelp, another reason to boycott Capcom.
Wow, Capcom. Bad move. Really bad. This is worse than Ubisoft requiring you to maintain an online connection to be able to play your game. Capcom has just taken the crown for worst DRM ever.

Actually, they do give a fuck. They just aren't legally allowed to do anything about it.eventually ill just give up gaming and put all my time and money into fixing up cars, you cant pirate a car or download a car, but you can re-sell it and the car companies dont give a fuck!
Re: Whelp, another reason to boycott Capcom.
lol, i have never heard of car companies hating on re-selling cars, apparently we should give them a cut then XDAppleQueso wrote:

Wow. Not a fan of this move. If this were to ever become common practice, I would definitely never end up even trying any new games/consoles.

I'm sure they would.AppleQueso wrote:A lot of studios would LOVE to do this honestly.noiseredux wrote:it's bullshit. Imagine buying a DVD but you can only watch it once. Pfft.
Not sure why Capcom would go this route though, since (as I understand) you're talking more about things you'd work to unlock. For some players, that could make a used copy more attractive, not less.
