Sim Tower contents question.

Post by Opa Opa »

Hey guys. I've spent some time scouring the world wide web and I still haven't found any answers. Here are my questions:

1) How many floppy disks did the big box, US release of Sim Tower come with?

2) What size floppy disks are they?

***
I think I already know the size of the floppy disks (3.5") but I want some verification.

Also, I've seen different different regions getting different amounts of diskettes. Germany would get like 1 disk and France would get 3. This only makes it even more confusing. I'm guessing one of the disks would be a black and white version for older monitors...

I'd appreciate any help given. Thanks.

There's no black and white version, only different densities of floppy disks (3 actually).

DD = 720 Kb
HD = 1440 Kb
ED = 2880 Kb

So don't worry too much about that =P

I kinda figured that it wouldn't be a b&w version but I think other Maxis titles had one (maybe it was Sim Ant on an Apple machine?).

Probably not B&W but probably there was some version of other Maxis titles for computers with only 4 colors. I remember Railroad Tycoon (1990) had between 4 (CGA) and 256 colors so it's not exactly unheard of. Simtower is a more modern game so it was probably released on PC/Mac/Amiga/Atari ST.
