Best $30 I've spent on video games

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Best $30 I've spent on video games

Post by cabrando »

Had to drive 1/2 hour away for work today so I decided to check out the local movie rental store to see if they had any games for sale and I got a steal.

I bought all these games for $6 each. They all came with the original box and some even came with the manual.

Mario Golf 64
Mario Tennis 64

Chrono Trigger SNES
Donkey Kong Country SNES
Yoshi's Island SNES

Awesome find. The Chrono Trigger was worth the $30 alone.

I haven't decided what I'm keeping yet, I know I'm getting rid of Chrono Trigger b/c I don't enjoy RPG's. I'm not even sure what it's worth, but I knew it was fairly valuable.

I'll probably keep the Mario games and get rid of Donkey Kong also.

I was absolutley shocked to see the games for that cheap, I had to ask the cashier to verify the sign that said "All games $6 with box".

I'm not sure what the value of Chrono Trigger would be with the rental stickers on the cart. Do you think those could be removed easily?

I haven't checked it yet, but I did remove the one from Donkey Kong. My girlfriend has all the patience in the world, so I'm leaving that one for her to try.

Great find! I'm always looking for new places to get games, the best places are always the places without a lot of knowledge on what they're selling. Craigslist can be okay, but if someone has the access to the internet to make the posting they've also got gamestop.com and ebay. The goodwill near me is a failure, but I may have to look into local movie stores.

Chrono Trigger with the box should be 60+ - that price index site that racketboy has linked people to I think had it listed at $57 or something and that was an average of all copies sold on ebay, which includes cart only, so I'd imagine you could get quite a bit more for it. I'd probably sell the SNES games, and keep the N64 ones, but thats more because I never got into NES or SNES since I always had a genesis. N64 was my first nintendo system.
