Started playing Pokemon HeartGold a few days ago. The second generation of Pokemon was the best imo.

Anybody play and beat Jeanne d'Arc? I'm having trouble with the second to last level and need some advice to get through it.

After hearing so many people here give the game praise, I've decided to play Super Mario RPG for the first time. I'm just starting out, but I think it's interesting how they've made it feel a little bit like a platform jumper and that the battle system requires some timing, yet it still plays mostly like an RPG.

Let me know what you think of it. I'm tired of being the only RPG fan who doesn't like the game.

You're not alone Cecil, I don't like it either. It may be the fact that I was never a big Mario fan, and it probably has a lot to do with the fact that I never played it as a kid, but the game just doesn't appeal to me at all.

I'm playing Ultima I: The First Age of Darkness on the Commodore-64 (...sadly, I'm having to emulate right now).

I like it so far. I'm going to have to get out some paper and draw maps for the dungeons. I guess I could find maps online but whatever... I'd rather find everything out on my own.

I really like these old rpgs. They're very simplistic.

I think it does some interesting things, but I'm already beginning to find the battles tedious and the storyline a bit too kiddy. It does some things I really like too though, so I need to play more before I make a final verdict.

Where are you at? There are a lot of points in the game where the gameplay changes for a bit. And even though its a kiddish story, do you find it funny at all?
