The first console I actually owned was an original Gameboy which I got for my 5th birthday. Up until that point, I had borrowed my uncle's NES or Genesis or did my gaming on the pc.

Atari 2600...the dark vader all black one, soon after the atari 5200 4 port model, which went back to the store rather quickly and didn't "find it's way home" for another 25 years.

I have no memory of playing it but I still have my Coleco Gemini with Donkey Kong and Mose Trap. I tried to hook it up years ago but could never get it working right.

Had an NES, but the first real console I played ALL the time on a huge flat CRT TV was the SNES with Donkey Kong Country; back when I thought the words "Nintendo" and "Donkey Kong" meant the exact same thing. The first DKC2 boss according to myself then was called "the mean bird"... ah 6 year old me...

I'm glad I didn't play a ton of games back then, because I always used a guide book and sought out ways to skip through everything (pretty much spoiling them)... might as well have a game where you press the A button to win. I miss those times though, where nothing mattered but playing video games.

People are so uptight about this "there's already a thread about this" on this site. What's the big deal, seriously?! Some of you guys expect us to dig back 20 or more pages in the history. If it's a recent thread, I understand, but be reasonable people.

Well some of the users here have been here for years, and have probably grown more than tired of this sort of thread appearing every 2-4 months or whatever. I haven't been here that long, but on the few forums that I have been a member for years on, seeing constant repeat threads definitely irritates me so I see where they're coming from. Especially if it's a discussion/question that's as basic and repetitive as this one.

Then don't read it. You don't have to piss on other people's parade.
