Best way to sell comics?
Best way to sell comics?
I have a pile of comics I'm trying to get rid of but I don't really know how to go about it. My goal isn't to make money, but just to clear up space for new stuff. I don't really want to deal with eBay but I will if I have to. I'm only asking this here because I know there are some other comic collectors around here. Any suggestions?

Used book stores like Half Price. The market for comics is non-existent these days for some reason.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I am doing the same thing right now. Trying to get some space by selling some not so great comics. I have been making big lots of around 50 books and asking between $29 to $49 depending on the titles. Most of these books cost me about 25 cents at the time. Mainly I just need the space also, and these comics won't be missed. I still plan on keeping a big chunk of my comics, mainly all my Spider-man comics. I have been using e bay and after just starting I have got one box gone for 39 shipped. Good luck as most comics are hard to move unless they are old or really rare.
Re: Best way to sell comics?
Thanks for the tips. To be honest I would give my stuff away to someone that it meant something to/could do something with it. I might do eBay but it just seems like too much of a hassle. If I don't find a solution then the stuff I no longer care for is headed to the recycling bin, but I'd rather not do that. I'm not trying to get rid of anything terribly valuable, just some odds and ends.
I was hoping there was some kind of forum or site that dealt with people trying to sell/trade comics that I wasn't aware of. I've never really bothered selling comics before but I don't want my collection to get out of control. Bringing a lot of stuff in lately and some stuff must go.

Best way to sell comics? In bulk. Of course it depends on what you have, but if it's 95% of everything published since 1985, 25 to 50 cents per is my personal limit. Again, depending on your inventory, I would consult a price guide and cull everything not remotely considered a "key" issue for 25/50 cents each, and then package the better books at $1 each, or even half of guide value, again, depending on condition and what you have.

If you have full sets of anything, that's the best way to sell them.
If you don't have a full set, but you have full storylines, selling them as storylines is the next best way to sell them.
And finally, if you have any key issues that are particularly valuable, sell those individually regardless if they're part of a set or not.
With what's left after that you just sell it bulk or if you really don't want to bother with it sell it to the local comic shop, but the local comic shop will rip you off the most giving you like 10% value or some stupid crap.
I'd try Craigslist first since you're most likely to get the most value out them if you can get a buyer. If you have quite a few, I'd suggest clicking the link in my signature to Comic Collector Live and setting up a shop there. It's a much better way to sell comics than eBay, and no I don't work for them, I'm just a happy user there who constantly buys comics from the stores there.
The other option is shipping them to me.

If you have a local comic book store, they might take them off your hands. Might not get much but they could try and sell them or whatever.
