If you're not supposed to resurrect dead threads, but you can't make a new thread for your own opinions, aren't we kind of killing the community aspect a little? I think what's needed is a subforum for these kinds of topics, like top games, top consoles, first games, first consoles, that kind of thing. We can either start over or merge all the related posts into a single thread. Good idea? Bad idea?

People are so uptight about this "there's already a thread about this" on this site. What's the big deal, seriously?! Some of you guys expect us to dig back 20 or more pages in the history. If it's a recent thread, I understand, but be reasonable people.

Anyways....

My first console was an Atari 2600. It was my older sister's. But it never held my interest for long. I didn't really fall in love with gaming until I got my NES. I was addicted to video games when I got my NES.

Well some of the users here have been here for years, and have probably grown more than tired of this sort of thread appearing every 2-4 months or whatever. I haven't been here that long, but on the few forums that I have been a member for years on, seeing constant repeat threads definitely irritates me so I see where they're coming from. Especially if it's a discussion/question that's as basic and repetitive as this one.

Meh. I've been here for a while and I don't really care. Most the time I forget the question was already asked. Or someone merges the new topic with the old one and I realize I've already answered it.

We're talking about OLD games, not like there's a whole lot of new news coming out all the time.

Another thing is that it's kind of a pointless question. 90% of the people here are going to have the same answers. 2600, NES, Genesis, or SNES.

My first console was a Playstation and I think most people will say that or N64.

I too wonder about this. Is it worse to bump an ancient thread, that's who knows how many pages long all ready, or to start a new but repeat thread? If there is something in the forum rules about which is preferred I missed it.

My first game system was a teal Game Boy Colour that I got for my first communion in second grade. I'd say it was about 1999 or so. I got Pokemon Red, Yellow, and Pinball with it.
