I saw the same demo on machinima and I did not expect what they showed. Microwave Laser on the Jet is the epitome of awesome. This is probably the one game I'm looking forward to get this year.

Yes. We absolutely need a thread for this game.
Saints Row 2 is the only GTA-type game I enjoy. From the looks of that trailer it definitely exceeds expectation.
Unlike Saints Row 2, the third game is made with co-op in mind from the start, so this promises to be a great co-op experience.

Re: Saints Row 3
this looks so over the top. If it doesn't sell a ton of copies I will have regained some faith in humanity.
I think the title should be adjusted to: Saint's Row 3: Charlie Sheen's Day Off
I think this is a game I could have fun with; what they showed in the demo is about all I did in GTA3. I don't like the whole missions and story. I just want to mess around. This new game looks like they've created the game with that in mind. Have fun and go crazy.

Ha ha, oh man this game looks nuts.
I loved Saints Row 2, so I'm very excited for this. It looks awesome.
I love the human cannon. I'm gonna have lots of fun with that one.

Re: Saints Row 3
The series is basically what GTA should have been this gen so far (before anyone says anything, I did enjoy GTA4 a good bit, but SR2 tears it up in my opinion, tons more stuff to do). SR2 is pretty comparable to GTA SA, etc. It just completely goes with the wacky humor and characters, has TONS of depth, the gang thing was something that set it apart from the early GTA's (you can have up to 3 people follow you around and help out), and ... I dunno, SR2 was massive and I'm sure it's cheap thesedays, pick it up if you haven't.AznKhmerBoi wrote:So what you guys think or know the difference between this and GTA ?
SR2 just gave you this huge playground to play in with so much to do, so much customization, fun and rewarding missions that made you want to carry on with the story at times, build up your rep and take over territories to own everything... I loved the original Crackdown and Just Cause 2 was alright from what I played, but there's so much depth to SR2 compared to those games it's insane. SR3 looks like it's just going to take everything that made SR2 awesome to the next level.
Re: Saints Row 3
I've had more fun with SR2 than any other game this gen. My only worry with 3 is that they might give you too much power from the start, but I'm sure they have some sort of arc worked out. I barely hear it mentioned, but besides being crazy over the top fun, SR2 also has very good writing. I really hope they keep that up.
