James Rolfe's DEATH PUPPY is oh so bad good. If you're a fan of bad homemade movies, this will quench your thirst.

I didn't see that one but I did see James' Wizard of Oz 3: Dorthy goes to hell, and it was completely fucking insane and incredibly funny.

Ugh. Cannot stand that guy. Punctuation exists for a reason. If he's funny, I'd never be able to tell, because I simply cannot follow what he is saying.

I used to like AVGN alot, but I slowly drifted away from him after he made a move to GameTrailers. IMHO I prefer Derrick aka The Happy Video Game Nerd, then again I like stuff from Retroware TV (Gotta support those fellow Nutmeg mofos).

Oh yeah, as an influence, he inspired me to collect Laserdisc

Retroware TV is good. 16-Bit Gems is probably the only retro game video review series that's actually legit. That dude knows what he's talking about.

he was funny for a few episodes, then just got repetitive. And i didnt really like how he was treating his games, no matter how much it sucks i dont think he should be destroying it with hammers or goo etc....

Its like hes supose to be this person who love retro games, but instead all he does is bash at it. Like i said it was alright for a bit, because its something new .

For me i prefer the relax, informative, lil bit of humor, game reviews such as,
ClassicGamerroom, Snesman16, and Roo: ClanofthegreyWolf, reviews...
PSN- jacktsang05
WiiU- jacktsang05

I love 16-Bit Gems, his reviews are definitely the best out there. They don't come out with new videos often but when they do they are long and of very high quality.

I used to enjoy AVGN a lot but I just got tired of the language. Maybe it happened when I graduated from college and spent less time around that sort of humor I couldn't watch him anymore. The same with Spoony, I used to love his stuff but one day came where I couldn't watch him anymore.

On the other hand, I don't think I'll ever get tired of Keith. I've shown his video to about a dozen people and they all love it. The physical comedy is of course priceless but I also love the characters horrible grasp of English.

He was much better when he was just The Angry Nintendo Nerd. The videos gave a more thorough explanation of the game. Now at most he just barely scratches the surface and swears a lot.

But he has been going back to earlier form in some of the later videos however they don't match the quality of the early stuff.

ClassicGamerroom is pretty hilarious, their old stuff at least with the other guy when they did stuff in the late 90's. Looks like high school projects my friends and I did, but that's not to bash it, I appreciate it in an odd way.

http://www.youtube.com/user/ClanOfTheGrayWolf is this 16-Bit Gems? I'll have to check them out.

Anyways, Happy Video Game Nerd isn't too bad... but you guys remember Irate Gamer? FUCK that shit. His old TMNT review was almost word and clip for clip a ripoff of AVGN's review. The guy has probably better video editing skills than James, but he's just a poor utterly blatant knockoff that completely sucks in my opinion.

I like a lot of the AVGN episodes, I find them pretty funny.

As for being influenced, I usually seek out some of the games he rips apart since I want to see if they are really that bad. Most of the time they are not that bad, and I think that's part of the joke. The videos are just supposed to be funny, and if you don't like them, get over yourself and just don't watch them.
