R.I.P. Peter Falk

I was always a big fan of Falk's, so I was saddened to hear of his passing. Turns out he had Alzheimer's :(

Oddly I just watched The Princess Bride last week. Now I feel like a Columbo marathon, and like checking out some of his pre-TV films.

I just had one more thing to ask him, too...

Blargh, that sucks. :(

Weird thing is when I was standing in the bathroom this morning I had some odd feeling about some older dignified actor dying. Though Sean Connery came to mind for some reason. Strange coincidences sometimes. :?

Peter's passing is bittersweet. He no longer has to suffer from Alzheimer's disease, but we lost one great actor. Scratch that, we lost one of the most likeable actors ever to grace the screen. Falk always had time for his fans, and up unto a few years ago, if you mailed him a letter he'd send you a signed picture.

He was believable in every role he played from mob boss to loving Grandfather. He also reminded me a lot of my Grandfather, who also passed away when struggling with the same disease.

I own almost every season of Columbo, and have watched them so many times I already know the ending (which is usually the beginning) to all of them. Even so, I still watch them over and over.

He was an incredible person, and I already miss him.

Put me in the club of those who will miss him. I've always enjoyed Columbo.

Let's remember the best of his best, and one of the funniest scenes in a movie:

Dude that is awesome! I've not seen that one. I'll see if it's on Netflix streaming. My favorite is Murder By Death.

And It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World is also worth checking out, not just for Falk but for everyone.

I'm sorry to see him go, he never got the chance to read me another bedtime story.
