Man I miss all of CN's goofy promos.
What was the mispronunciation?
PowDer Puff Girls.

She likes to tease me for liking the show but she keeps getting the name wrong and it takes everything I have not to nerd out like crazy and correct her.
LOL, I derped. I watched the clip like two days ago and had forgotten about what the guy said.

Anyway, I loved this one too for the sheer randomness:

My mom gives me this look whenever she sees me watching it, but at least she can say it right.

The show itself was never targeted at girls, though. It was just the merchandising that sold that idea. Craig McCracken was really annoyed by that even.

The merchandising is the exact reason she has the impression it's a girl's show. If you only ever looked at the backpacks, perfume, pencil sets, ect, you'd get the impression it was Barbie with superpowers or something. I've noticed that merchandising for cartoon shows in general tends to be girly. I read the reason for that is because girls are easier to sell stuff like that to, so it pays better to target them. On the flipside, boys respond better to nostalgia stuff.

I bought a Powerpuff Girls notebook to use in high school (as well as a Winnie the Pooh one).

Back then I just wanted to be funny using girly notebooks, but it was one of the best decisions I've made in my life.

Girls were all over me the whole time asking for stickers (the ones that come with the notebooks), and I would save the larger ones for the girls I was most interested in. Cunning!

Huh. I always thought it was targeted towards girls, seeing as it has the word "Girls" in the title and features girls as the main characters. Learn something new everyday.

CN has never really tried to appeal to girls, so it's not that surprising. Of course, their mainly one-gender appeal is most likely the reason they are only 3rd most popular as far as cartoon channels go, behind Nick and Disney.

And by the way, I watched the first disc of Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures recently. So far, it's a great show. The way they draw the few humans on the show is really funny. It's nice to discover a new good show that I had no idea existed. I reccomend that anyone who hasn't seen it watch it, if you like stuff like The Tick or Ren and Stimpy.

I have some friends who are featured in one those videos. They're wasted and boy is it funny.

Well, it's by Shuki Levy. NeoGAF even asks how much of your childhood was Levy? It doesn't matter what the show was, they made music ROCK. Seriously, listen to the samples on their site. Go relive your childhood.

And then cry at all the DVD-less shows you'll now have to scour YouTube for.

My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.
