Rocky and Bullwinkle has held up better than just about any other 60's cartoon show. It's too bad no one hardly tried to do the whole make-a-cartoon-that-appeals-to-adults-as-well-as-kids thing again until the 90's.
Inspector Gadget, however, is just another mediocre 80's Saturday morning crap cartoon IMO. I've never enjoyed it.

I enjoyed Inspector Gadget when I was young (I was born in the 80s, I don't think I was watching it at all after I turned 10), but you're right, R&B is truly a great show, and I wasn't comparing the two! I definitely caught a lot of the "adult humor" as a kid, but only as a young adult/adult did I fully appreciate it.

Wasn't it already mentioned? Or maybe that was an earlier thread I was reading. I used to watch that too. It wasn't *as* good as R&B, but it was still good. I never saw the remake, though.
I was raised on Rocky & Bullwinkle. If you like that and George of the Jungle, you should see if you can find the old Beanie and Cecil Show cartoons. Not by the same folks, but very similar comedy.

She likes to tease me for liking the show but she keeps getting the name wrong and it takes everything I have not to nerd out like crazy and correct her.
