How has James Rolf (aka AVGN) influenced you as a gamer?

Anything that is gaming related that doesn't fit well anywhere else

I'm 23 and I don't even see AVGN and Kieth Apicary as comparable.

I see them both as caricatures, but each of a different type of person. I've met people that are just like a toned down Kieth Apicary and I've met people that are just like a toned-down AVGN.

and yr thoughts on Keith Apicary?
As I said in that same post, some of his stuff makes me chuckle, some of it, like the Virtual Boy one most recently, I didn't care for at all. The music is actually the only part I really like. Good for the community but not my cup of tea.

Well, I mean that they're taking completely different approaches. I like both of their series of videos (I probably like Keith Apicary's more), but they make them from very different angles.

Super Castlevania IV is best Castlevania. Sine dubio. After that it's Castlevania III, then, I'm thinking Symphony of the Night, although I need to give it more time to get over the horrible voice acting. Then Bloodlines.

Seriously, if I had known there would be this much hate about a pretty innocent question, I never would have posted - which certainly doesn't say much for the retro community.
Not sure where all the hatred for james is coming from, I find him hilarious. Except for his new "show" over analyzers. That just sucks. Ever since I first saw his third or fourth review I have been hooked. If nothing else it got me interested in playing all those shitty games for myself. So while I am and forever will be a retro gamer, seeing him and his frustration was a kinship of sorts. I too have gotten pissed at many of those games.

As far as people saying this is a retro site and they feel he is "bashing" retro games...i think people on here tend to be a TAD BIT UPTIGHT and need to stop taking themselves so seriously. It's video games, not "saving the planet".
