As that article even says, the console there is literally comprised of off-the-shelf PC components. It's basically a low end AMD machine circa 2008 running Linux. The "console" is effectively the software, but at that point you could make a bootable Linux CD or DVD with your game and use all sorts of PCs. Like this.
Probably a moot point in this case, as the product in question was a one-time run and sold out. Their successor seems to be taking a different strategy.
