I just think it is pretty amazing that it can be modded on this level. Sure, still many things like .dll's which change game logic have been something we don't have implimented yet, but work is being done that will hopefully allow any PC mod to be played on Dreamcast, granted you took in account this system has only 16mb ram, but high quality mods can have better textures than on the original PC version.
Anyway, I just like spreading the word that the little Dreamcast can do something that a modded Xbox can't even do, as it never had a port of half-Life unfortunately.
Good thing Dreamcast has Windows CE and can support the PC file format that HL does, it is almost as simple as dragging and dropping a PC map pack into HLDC and making a cdi of it and play the maps on your TV with a controller or mouse and keyboard on a Dreamcast.
Anyway, I just wish more people would give the mods a try, they are very high quality, just like a retail release in the case of Paranoia and They Hunger.

Well if they're DC exclusive mods, consider me interested to try them out when I get some VGA cables and I'll probably check out the DC port of HL1 for the heck of it. Although playing with that controller sounds like a nightmare... maybe I should order the keyboard/mouse as well.

Re: Superior Dreamcast ports
The controller is surprisingly good once you get used to it. PSP and N64 had no dual sticks, and if you can get used to Goldeneye 007 on N64, then FPS gakming on Dreamcast shouldn't be a problem. You just aim with the stick and move with the face buttons, no different than using w, a, s, d, keys on a keyboard.
Anyway, a mouse and keyboard is recommended, well, because its a freaking console that can have superior controls for FPS games, the way its meant to be played.

Re: Superior Dreamcast ports
I think that Decay could be ported to the Dreamcast, but like I said before, we need to find a way to change the game logic by utilizing .dll's. There was work done to compile the dll's on Dreamcast, but we have been held back for the most part.
Read this thread in full to see what steps the did to get HL-SDK dlls for DC compiled using WinCE Devkit.
http://www.dcfan.net.ru/forum/f83/compi ... vkit-3567/
They got the compiler errors fixed in the SDK, but it did't do much.
If there was some kind of workaround, we could see stand alone mods that have nothing to do with Half-Life or FPS's, we could have side scrolling platformers, racers like HLRally, and so many other things. This will blow open the homebrew scene in the community.
