Re: Playstation Vita thread
It would be neat if the 3G service was free; if it was, then I would definitely go for that model. If not, then I can just use my cell phone tethering program to get 3G.

Was the Kindle free? I was thinking of the Nook.jfrost wrote:Kindle?Stark wrote:I've only seen one device like this that didn't charge for 3G serviceXelyx wrote:I'm assuming there would be a charge for the 3G service, then?
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
Re: Playstation Vita thread
The Kindle 3G service is free within a certain scope. Nook was probably similar, but I think the current Nook models don't offer 3G.
Re: Playstation Vita thread
Certain scope? It's totally free, as far as I know. It also has global coverage.
Re: Playstation Vita thread
I have a Kindle 3G and use it very often. The 3G is free and it's really handy, but it's also "limited" in that it was really only put there so that you could download books and subscribe to magazines/publications quickly and easily from the device.
But it's fast (It's 3G) and Wikipedia is handy to have, the browser really is sub par though. I haven't cracked mine, but I'm pretty sure tethering is against the EULA so I can't use the devices 3G on my PC and got any real good use out of it - otherwise I would.

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

As in, within the confines of using the Amazon services and very basic internet. It's not like you get a free 3G 'net connection to do whatever you possibly could think of.jfrost wrote:Certain scope? It's totally free, as far as I know. It also has global coverage.

Re: Playstation Vita thread
I'm curious as to how many PS Vita sales will be stolen from the 3DS as a direct result of Capcom's recent behavior. I, for one, am no longer even considering a 3DS (not even in addition to a Vita.)

The companies have very different fan bases these days, but we may see a little trickle over. I think new adapters to the handheld market may be the big difference.BoringSupreez wrote:I'm curious as to how many PS Vita sales will be stolen from the 3DS as a direct result of Capcom's recent behavior. Got you. I didn't think it was worth it anyway. My Kindle is the basic model.isiolia wrote:As in, within the confines of using the Amazon services and very basic internet. $348.00 for the WiFi model and $408.00 for the 3G model? Fuck that. I'm going to import that shit.
I definitely want one though.
I don't care if it doesn't have UMD backwards compatibility, I've never owned a PSP. Also if it's region free I'll be a very happy chappy, after all the PS3 was. I rarely buy games in Australian shops, they're just too dear.
