I call the assembly of the racketeers.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I don't think I ever beat all the special stages of Sonic 2 with Sonic and Tails legitimately. I've done it with save states, but on the actual hardware? Forget about it.
Out of all the times I tried, I only pulled it off once.

I obsessively collected rings and went out of my way to get to star posts to enter the special stage at every opportunity. Even that was cutting it close. Like I said, stage 7 is simply awful.

I have never beaten the first boss of Sonic 2 on the GG. It's evil I tell you, EVIL. It almost pains me to think of it.

I can't even stand Sonic 2's 4th special stage. I just youtubed it... yeah that's the one. And what I really hate? Unlike every other Sonic I believe, where if you fail to complete a special stage, you'll have to play another one next time (which can be good in some ways), but in Sonic 2 you HAVE to do them in order. So that gets really annoying too. Screw that music too.

I learned a trick a while back: just continually pause it to see where the bouncy rock (?) is falling.

I'll have to try that. Those rocks are so unpredictable.

Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 both require their special stages to be played in order. I never bothered to figure out if Sonic 1 was the same way, but 3 is definitely like that. Oh, except for the super special stages, where you can play them in any order, but that you get to choose.

So... that's exactly what I was saying about Sonic 2. I thought Sonic 3 was like that, but maybe it changes when S&K is attached because I know for a fact in S&K if you mess up on a special stage, the selection "rotates" so you go onto another special stage the next time around and eventually you'll make your way back to the one you messed up on. I hate how it's not like that in Sonic 2, when I last played it a few weeks ago I got stuck on the 4th special stage and after several repeated attempts at it I just gave up (didn't help that the 360 controller kind of sucked for that). Sonic 1 and CD rotate like S&K.

Maybe I'm just crazy, but I thought both S3 and S&K were like S2 in that regard. Oh well, I got S3 special stages down to an art, I think I only mess up on the last one.

Up until a couple weeks ago, I hadn't beaten a Sonic game either. I finally beat Sonic 2 though. Now if I can just beat Sonic 1, I'll be able to die a happy man.
I'm known as ZebetiteGlitch or Zeza Von Thantos on other platforms.
