polarium is a perfectly respectable early DS puzzler, much in the vein of picross or sudoku. about on par with picross, but not as deep as sudoku. good fun, except for the tacked-on "challenge" mode, which is a pointless tetris-like game that is much more frustrating than fun.
i'm surprised at how much wii play is maligned. as a $10 game i thought it was perfectly fine. polished and for the most part entertaining, and the short games kept me interested in trying to earn all the medals. has made me much more interested in trying out wii play: motion.

16. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift (PS3)
17. Mr. Driller (PS1)
18. Dead Or Alive (PS1)
19. Mamoru-kun (PS3)
Admittedly I had to credit-feed a bit, but I made it thru the Arcade Mode of Mamoru-kun and it's really pretty awesome. Sort of a cross betwixt Castle Shikigami and Pocky & Rocky. Super cutesy and really incredibly backgrounds and enemies. Now certainly it was a bit easy to just go through the Arcade Mode and credit feed, but it was more to take a look at everything. There's still lots of story modes and other stuff that I'm not quite sure if yet since most of the text is in Japanese. But whatever, I had a lot of fun running through this one and I'm gonna be playing the hell out of it for a while.

Re: Games Beaten : 2011
Just beat Sengoku III, and DAMN is it a long game! It took me just about 2.5 hours to beat the game, not counting game overs, which is a loooooonnnnng time for a Beat-Em'-Up with no pause button.
Still quite a fun game, though. I would have had a lot more fun if that action didn't drag on forever in each level.
Also, I never thought it would be possible, but noise has yet to beat a Game Boy game this year!

You haven't hacked your PSP yet, have you, noise?

Re: Games Beaten : 2011
Batman: Arkham Asylum - PS3
Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire - N64
Bulletstorm - 360
Mortal Kombat (new one) - PS3
Uncharted 2: Among Theives - PS3
Demon's Souls - PS3
Duke Nukem Forever - 360
Brutal Legend - 360
Psychonauts - Xbox
Dead Space - 360
inFAMOUS - PS3
I'm not a big fan of GTA styled games, but I did enjoy this one. The fact that it was free probably sweetened my opinion, though. I didn't collect all of the Dead Drops and Blast Shards but I did complete the main story, all good missions, and all side missions.
I'm also a few hours into Xenogears. It will be getting my undivided gaming attention now.

It had been a while since I played through this classic, and I needed to test if it worked (along with my old NES, which is in bad need of a pin replacement). There's really not much that I dislike about Kirby's Adventure. The music is excellent, the graphics are colorful and pretty, and the gameplay is a lot of fun. The controls feel a good bit stiffer than I remember, but I eventually got used to them again. Oh, and the bosses were a good bit more challenging than I remembered, but that made part of the rediscovery so much fun. I really wish I had more Kirby games to play.

I still don't know how Kirby's Adventure is on the NES. Pushed the console to the absolute limits, that game is huge.

Terranigma (SNES)
Silent Hill (Playstation)
Soul Calibur (Dreamcast)
Tony Hawk's Underground 2 (Gamecube)
Keio Flying Squadron (Sega CD)
Donkey Kong Country (SNES)
I don't even want to know how long it took me to finish DKC. I started playing when I was about 14, and I just never really gave up. I had long breaks of not playing, but yesterday, I beat the last four levels in a single session. And it felt gooood.
