Hey everyone, so to start off I collect game boys and game boy games. My collection is complete but it's not exactly "complete" complete. Everything is out of the box and not in perfect condition. I know a lot of people only collect things CIB. Now I'm not trying to copy people and I know I should do my own thing. But I feel as though I'm not really collecting them "for real" if you know what I mean. Should I "start over" per se and collect everything CIB and new or is it not worth it?
Any advice is a appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Illogical Collection?
Do you collect your games to own the games and play them, if so then your collection is perfect!
If you want to collect to look at some boxes and spend lots of money on what you all ready own, go ahead and recollect it all.
You could always just buy cases and download covers from coverpoject, it looks pretty neat and tidy.

If its a game I would put in my top 5, I usually try to get a nice copy. Other than that, I'd say just stick with what you have.

It doesn't matter what we tell you. You should collect whatever you want, however you want. If it bothers you to be missing boxes and manuals, then go ahead and start collecting those. Decide what you want to collect, and go and collect it. The most important thing is how you feel about it.
When I'm checking out someone's collection, even if it is different from the sort of things I personally collect, I like to see their passion. For example, I have little to no interest in the Xbox 360, but I can respect and admire someone's Xbox 360 collection if I see them being passionate about it.
Spend your time and money on what makes you happy.

I know through my experience the longer I collect the more my taste change.
Thats the fun part about it,being so invoved and passionate in what intrest you.
Its a great feeling to aquire a game you longed for, popping it in your console playing out your imagination and prizing it in your collection.
Theres no right or wrong way to collect, just get games you wanna play.As you delve into all the great choices of retro goodness, you may wanna start collecting maybe for a new system. And the cycle continues..

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
Re: Illogical Collection?
how about starting a new collection of something else and if a good deal pops up with a better box or whatever then upgrade what you have
Re: Illogical Collection?
Thanks so much everyone. I decided to keep doing what I'm doing and stick to it. You guys are right. It wouldn't be as fun to sit there and play boxes. Also, emwearz, the cover project is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for that.
Again, I appreciate the help everyone.

Ahh, I want to collect some stuff like you. I'm just getting into this, and I kinda need help with my gameboy collection. I currently have six GBA games, all out of box, all bought new buy me, except my Kirby in Dreamland. I have a GBA SP and A Gameboy Player for my Gamecube. I'm mainly looking for games, and have little Idea as to where to start. Maybe we could talk it over some time!
Systems: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360
WTB: Boxes for a silver Gamecube System(and a hyperport cover), and a box for an Ice Blue N64 console. Will pay 7.50 for each and shipping.
